Racers entire rig stolen.

A lot of us here are racers, and a lot of us travel a good bit, so maybe we can help keep an eye out for this.

Cross posting from an SCCA forum:

The Sorted Performance Transporter was stolen last night in the parking lot of a Hampton Inn Hotel in Michigan.

The Silver Dodge Dually, 48 foot white three axle trailer, two Dodge SRT-4 WCTCs, one Honda 4-wheeler, and all of our spares were all stolen.

The trailer has SCCA Pro stickers and SPEED World-Challenge stickers on it as well as the paddock space size needed and car numbers 4 and 92. Virginia plates.

If you see anything or can help in anyway, please contact Hal Brown at 540-449-1575.

Will keep my eyes open, hate it when something like this happens. Racing people have a large network and hope someone sees the perp.

My worst fear when traveling with the car trailer.

My trailer is an open one. A few years back I took it up to Indy to compete in a Rotary only Autocross at a huge Roatary only event.

I had a Viper alarm installed in the car that would set off a pger if it was set off. I parked in a place where it was well lit and I could see the Truck / Trailer / Car from my window and woke all night long to check up on it.

Tell the guy to post pictures of the rig so we all can keep an eye out, I will be on the road a lot over the next few weeks and will keep an eye out.

People ain't no good!!!! I agree with Jim, post pictures, so we know what we're looking for.

I just don't understand what Wile E. Coyote, Genius at Large, does something like this thinking that the stuff won't be recognized? Does this stuff just quickly go to a "chop shop"? This is sort of like trying to outrun police radio, imho....

You'd be surprised. Stuff like this has disappeared before, (as reported here), safe to say that it was not an amateur job. Major bummer.

Of course I'll keep an eye out for it, but I doubt that the ones who stole it are driving around on the interstate with it. It's a pretty large, slow-moving target for law enforcement.

That's why, if possible, I always drive to the track first and drop off all my gear. At least there they have a guard and a paper trail.

Of course, if you're in transit and haven't reached the track, you have no choice.

Bummer deal. I'll be lookin'

My trailer has a BIG X paited on the top, so that if it did get stolen that an eye in the sky could be told to look for it

I thought of painting my plate # on it but I didn't want any attention for towing too fast to come home.

since my trailer is smaller (I raced karts not cars) instead of having a V toungue I had a 4x4 steel toungue that if you pull out a pin the toungue slides underneath the trailer. When ever I park I remove the pin.

I hate fricken theives.

So far I have only been linked to a pic of one of the cars. I hope later that somebody will post images of the whole rig.

Saw an ad this week on the Los Angeles Craigslist. Sprint car racers 5th wheel, 1999 Super Duty Dually and everything inside stolen from Torrance. White truck and trailer. Good luck
