Political amusement coming - the Dick gets subpoenaed. . .
This should be some good entertainment. Dick sez he's not part of the Executive Branch (and therefore presumably not able to invoke "Executive Privilege" to withhold information), so now they whack him with a subpoena about the warrantless wiretapping program. LOL! Predictable, but funny.
I guess it's back to the old lawyer tactic of trying to stonewall and file all kinds of motions to delay revealing anything, right? This administration is so corrupt it's almost laughable. http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/06/27/wiretapping.subpoenas.ap/index.html |
Cheney doesn't do what he does for material gain but a misguided sense of Morality and Patriotism. To some extent he feels like he is a sentinal doing what is necessary while all else are being frivolous or worse.

The obvious reasons a politician positions may be only to distract opponents. Kinda like that bird that fakes a limp injury to draw predators away from the nest.

Not a part of the Executive Branch, so can't invoke Executive Priviledge, should be interesting.

a talking head said he may be playing games with a constitutional issue.
my reasoning is.. if that be true the hard answer may be beyond the judiciary and is a Congressional and Presidential matter. The issue may be enough to keep opponents distracted pretending to be doing something useful. |
Maybe they'll become so preoccupied with this that they forget to vote on the "Amnesty for Illegal Aliens" bill.

I don't know. Since the Dems won the majority of the House, I'm just waiting for them to take the lead and start to put forward some good ideas for how to win the War on Terror (remember, the "Allah Akba" team launched an unprovoked attack on us that killed more people -- civilians and military personnel -- then died at Pearl Harbor).
So far all that they've managed to do is present a plan to give up on Iraq, and obstruct the solutions (flawed though they may be) which have been put in place by the current administration. That would be kind of like... A) ...giving up on the war in Europe in 1945 because we were stalled at the Rhine and had almost lost the "Battle of the Bulge". Remember, it wasn't the Nazis that bombed Pearl Harbor, why were we wasting precious resources fighting them??? and - B) Curtailing the ability of the US anti-Espionage forces from reading the mail or listening to the radio broadcasts of Axis agents in the US. So now they're issuing a subpoena to the VP. I'm lost how that is going to help achieve objective number 1 -- beat the bad guys. It sure has the (nausiating) smell of politics to me!http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/puke.gif |

OK. He wouldn't be a lawyer if he couldn't argue both sides of a point.

i think the level of which the two highest, and equal, levels of gov't gov't
operate somehow gets lost. fwiw.. a study of what exactly international law is in dynamics is a good primer. |

tabs...You really think that Cheney does what he does out of (misguided) patriotism? Would you consider that he might just be addicted to power? Do you really think morality (in the positive sense) has anything to do with his motivations? I really am curious how you arrived at these conclusions.
