I'm already burned out on the whole 'rat rod' fad.

+1 Steve,
Something like this will probably be my next project! I love the whole idea of the 'old school' hot rod, nasty body and paint, (who cares if it gets another scratch or door ding). New engine, good brakes, reliable running gear, but to heck with the body.

Wax??? Are you kidding, I just rub it down with 10 weight motor oil!

I am soooo tired of the pristine, PERFECT street rods, whose undersides are cleaner than the body, that sit in garages under covers and are only trailered/driven to shows.

My friend makes them just like that. His stuff goes into magazines, and he has a large shop he keeps filled up with work.

I personally like a ride with airconditioning.

we've got a 38 Dodge truck we're starting soon. drive train and undercarriage will be modern, but body left as is. I believe it will change colors every drive for a while since it's maybe 4 colors of peeling paint
