Nice Car!!!
I would check out Crutchfield for a selection of decks that would meet your criteria. They have a number of decks that have an AUX jack in the face for MP3s.

Not exactly a top brand, but I had a Jensen with an aux jack in my pickup. I could plug my iPod into it and it played through just fine. I also picked up an iPod remote for $7 so that I can change tracks without fiddling with the touchwheel and without distracting me from the task at hand.

YES! YES! There is such a unit at Best Buy... it's a Dual XDM6400 head unit with WMA MP3 CD, front AUX, AND (the coolest feature) front USB port.

Here's a link: http://www.dualav.com/receivers/xdm6400.html

I can plug my iPod shuffle or usb drive right into the head unit and it'll play my music straight off of it. I can also plug in my Samsung sat radio/recorder right into the AUX jack on the front and play from that. The CD player is MP3 capable. It costs about $99 bucks! Because I saved so much on the head unit, I also bought a Dual 300Watt amp for $79 bucks and mounted it in the trunk.

Here's a picture of it... mine was blue: http://www.dualav.com/amplifiers/hires/xpa2100.jpg

It all works great together, but don't expect fantastic sounds from the Porsche... it's just not an audio friendly car.

I just got a Blaupunkt CR84 Memphis for my '82 from E-Bay for around $50.

It has an aux in connector in the wiring harness. Being a Blaupunkt with a cassette player instead of CD, I think it goes much nicer with the vintage car than a new deck.

Just another option.

Edit: Oh Yeah!! Fabulous car!!! I am jealous.

Most head units from Alpine can handle Ipod's via a bespoke cable, and some can also handle generic mp3 players.

Take a look at the Blaupunkt Seattle mp74 or the Los Angeles mp74. That's what I have. Uses an awesome eq, calibration mic, 2 aux inputs, and plays mp3 files in the head unit. Add a cd changer, amps, and yer good to go.

I got a nice Sony unit that has a 1/8" input and USB port on the front, plus the built in cable to run an Ipod from crutchfield for under $200. Great unit, plays everything, even a flash drive.....

I just got an Alpine deck installed in the car. No USB jack for memory...but, it's a DVD player w/o the stupid screen. I don't recall the model, but it's the only DVD player without a built in screen that I found...screen optional add-on.
I can hold a bajillion MP3's on a single DVD.

My son just installed a Pioneer 3900 head unit in the Honda. Works fine with its front AUX jack. About $120 from Crutchfield.
