Italian Beef
I know the anticipation is killing everyone. I know you can smell it from where you are sitting.
I got a recipe from a friend for Italian beef...and I modified it a little to my tastes. It's in the crock pot right now (has been since 6 a.m.). It will be ready just in time for dinner (6 p.m.). Ingredients: 1 beef roast (I can't remember what I got, it was tender and looked like it would slice well) 2 cans of beer 2 shots of whiskey 1 jar of Pepperoncini juice 4 cubes of beef bouillon I'll let everyone know how it turned out... |
With the beer and whiskey it sounds more like Irish beef than Italian beef :)

Yeah, I doubled those from the recipe my friend gave me....
What can I say? I'm Irish. |
You know Legion nothing beats an Italian Beef like one from a Vienna Hot Dog stand!! Growing up in Chicago, I lived on those and the hot dogs and missed the heck out of 'em. Here in Atlanta a hot dog is mashed pig lips and minced pig scrotum and years away from the taste of Vienna! I suspect Vienna made its way down to Bloomington awhile back and Vienna Beef rules!! Your recipe sounds mighty tasty though...

I've had Vienna beef (which is very good), but I've got to say that I prefer Portillos. I've been writing them for years trying to get them to open a location in Bloomington.

just had a portillo's the other day...the best. Have them send ya some Chris.

I thought this was going to be about Ferrari's appeal to the FIA.

So?

Pretty darn good, but still not Portillos.
Not as salty, a little more spicy, and the meat just falls apart. (Maybe I should try 11 hours next time.) |
Oh good, I was afraid this was going to be about Travolta, or Stallone or some crap like that.
