Chaplin or Keaton

Whom do you prefer?

Just watched The General, have seen it many times and still laughed out loud several times, so you know what I would vote.

"Gold Rush" is one of my favorite movies, but you have to include Harold Lloyd with "Girl Shy" as another great one. Buster is great, even in the "Beach blanket" movies.

The movie Chaplin is one of my favorites:D

While I like old Harold quite a bit too, and if you were to open it up Ernie Kovacs and the Mack Sennett stuff for that matter, it is an either or proposition.

City Lights!

What else do I need to say?

is this even up for debate? you've got a man who singlehandedly revolutionized hollywood vs. a loud and annoying guy....

Dude, we are basically talking about silent movies, loud?

I am not talking about either as an auteur, I am talking about seeing them on the screen and laughing out loud at what they do. To me, Keaton has this hands down, best physical comic ever.

Pretty close, about like I figured

What was the movie with Buster on the ladder straddling a fence and making it go from one side to the other while being chased? I remember seeing it as a kid at "Shakey's Pizza" when they used to have the piano player and silent movies going all the time.

well my vote just made it 50-50.

Mine tipped the scale for Buster. I appreciate Chaplin, no question but I think the "artista's" get a little too wound up in their panties describing his genius.
