Fred Thompson on Jay Leno

He s exactly what is wrong for American foreign policy. It would be a scarier world under that guy than under BushSmileWavy
Anyone see that?

island911 09-05-2007 10:55 PM

What, he can deliver a line . . that makes him worse?

Rearden 09-05-2007 11:05 PM

We just have to be nice to the jihadists and they'll leave us alone. All you need is love.

livi 09-05-2007 11:47 PM

Is he the guy in 'Law & Order' ?

Brilliant!

Sonic dB 09-05-2007 11:47 PM

The days of American imperialism are over, yet our government has not realized this yet.

We should focus on our home state, fixing the wrongs of our society, providing national heath care, bailing out New Orleans and making sure that it doesnt happen again...fixing our poor educational system... developing alternative fuels to replace our dependance on foreign oil....

we should...but we won't
cause we live in a corrupt country
no one politician will fix this
its going to take more than that

I'm left wondering if the Dem's will be able to cook up a good smear in time. None of the Dem's can measure up to Thompson. All that they can hope for is to bring him down.

Markus, his video goes over his background. http://fred08.com/index.aspx

The best description I've heard of Thompson is "Southern-fried Ronald Reagan."

I guess that rules out having Alec Baldwin as his running mate.

Too bad.

They were good together in "Hunt for Red October."

Sonic dB 09-06-2007 01:23 AM

Actually the author Tom Clancy is said to have preferred Alec Baldwin in his
portrayal of Jack Ryan, over Harrison Ford, whom he was a little disappointed
by. Not sure what he thought of Ben Afflack in the role.

Thanks island!

Would it not be prudent to elect a candidate with a fair chance of not dying of old age during his term ?

Pretty much like the election of the Pope. They all seem to have surpassed their 'best-before' date.

Maybe from a Darwinist's view point it is a a good community strategy. Most leaders will turn out to be a liability of some form. Electing the 'near dead' will diminish their chances of doing too much damage.

I am mostly joking, of course..

The brilliance of the Fred Thompson candidacy is that his staff of Hollywood and SOHO screenwriters will take extremely complex national and world stage issues and dissolve them down into little spoonfuls of love for every American to swallow their dose before heading off to Walmart.

Fred has never been a leader and has never had a vision for our country. He even point-blank ducked the question when Sean Hannity asked him the other day if he had a Presidential vision and mission.

They don't come much shinier than Fred Thompson. He's more fake than Hillary who at least has committed a lifetime of scurrilous and fraudulent political undertakings to get to where she is today. Fred? Seems more like some committee pulled his name out of a top 5, cigars lit up all around the darkened chamber and on lone voice rang out, "he's the best piece of clay we got boys, get those writers busy."

I'm looking forward to the real Republican candidates tearing down the curtain.

we need honest, proven leadership in this Country. Romney and Rudy have track records and will pound the old man into the dirt whenever Thompson's cue cards aren't handy.

Fred has a nice voice, and "the Iraq war, energy policy, China, N. Vietnam, education, etc." all turned into spoonfuls of love.

Apparently 'hype' = 'truth' in some regions.

The Dems could care less about Mighty Mouse. He isn't an issue. Judging from the light-hearted, polite jokes in the Republican debate, Fred has a lot to worry about from his fellow party candidates.

I think his wife is hot...

frogger 09-06-2007 07:44 AM

Fred's wife would run the White House. He's toast in my eyes. :)

Fred Thompson on Jay Leno

I thought from the title that Thompson was commenting on Leno. Whoops.

Mark Wilson 09-06-2007 07:48 AM

Fred won't play the pansy games of the rest of the politicos - liberal or conservative. He stands a great chance to be the next Prez.

sketchers356 09-06-2007 07:48 AM

Although, I suppose that I could have misinterpreted the title in other ways as well....

Mark, his entire pre-candidacy has been a game. A well-scripted one right off of Madison Avenue, Bleecker Street and Sunset Blvd.
