Perry Marshall will teach you Google Adwords for $725/hr

http://www.perrymarshall.com/services/

Accelerate Your Business With Expert Marketing Consulting Services by Perry S. Marshall & Associates

Consulting Rates in 2007, via telephone or at our offices in Chicago:

30 Minutes $363

Hour: $725 (Phone consultations are recorded; you receive a copy after the call)

Day (9am-5pm, working lunch): $6500

At your location:

$9250 per day + business class air fare

----------

That's right, boys and girls, want to learn Google Adwords? Perry Marshall is your man. For a small fee, he will show you exactly how to use Google Adwords. .. ,. Just call him up. 1/2 an hr later you'll be an expert , and $363 poorer.

What kind of idiots pay for this $hit? Must be really dumb and gullible.

This goes to the heart of human gullibility. What can you convince somewhat to do and pay for, kinda like religion.

725/hr???? wow.

If I had cancer and Perry M. had the only known cure, sure, I would
pay 725/hr. Even a surgeon doesn't charge that much, or a lawyer, or a therapist, or even the POPE.

Perry M must be God.

I love this line from the website:

"Please Note: Perry S. Marshall & Associates is selective about accepting clients and projects, and all services are subject to limited availability."

Who's to judge?

If someone is willing to pay 725/hr, then that's what he's worth.

A lot of companies aren't interested in building expertise in search engine optimization. For them, it's far easier to simply pay an "expert" than to fumble along with mixed results.

You obviously came across his rates because it's a service you're looking for.

Jake, do you envision the day you pay $9250 per day to someone to come to your house and teach you how to do something?

You're lucky you didn't have to pay to read the ad.

To my house? No.

But at work last year we had a 25k project to enhance our results on google & msn. About half of that went to "consultants". For all we know, they did their work in one day. Doesn't really matter either, because it worked.

what exactly do you do for a living? You love to take the piss out of what others do, so I'm curious as to your contribution to society.

Send a message via AIM to SlowToady
Are you sure he isn't offering any SEO (Search Engine Optimization) with that? SEO is complicated, expensive, and requires constant attention. So, if he's going to do your AdWords and also do some (one time) SEO work, it very well could be worth it.

I agree entirely that this is ridiculous. The government should do something about people like this guy taking advantage of helpless citizens who might actually pay him for this obviously overpriced nonsense. What we need is a government committee that decides if the price for a good or service is fair or not, and then based on their assessment can either allow or disallow said service. I for one cannot be expected to make my own rational decisions, and need elected officials to save me from myself. Unfortunately, as long as Hitler (sorry, George Bush) is in power this will never happen.

How is it "ripping people off" if people voluntarily pay for his services??

Big cities have plenty of lawyers who charge $725 or more per hour.

The highest rates are now over $1000/hr.

I don't know about how much therapists charge. How much is yours charging?

Its ripping off because people aren't smart enough to make their own business decisions.

I'm not implying anything. I'm just curious as to what you get paid to do since you seem to quickly and soundly pronounce judgment on others.

And frankly saying that you'll show up somewhere and then flaking is in fact ripping people off. Time is money. You waste people's time, you're ripping them off. Pretty simple. So if you want to go there, maybe I should make that implication.

Hey, I'm just trying to help with your credibility. If you give people some insight into what you actually do, then everyone will be able to take your pronouncements with the respect they so richly deserve.
