Would you give up your baby if your wife says so?

Would you give up your baby if your wife "says" so? Well she has reasonable reasons. Her reasons were I am a family man now, not a single man anymore, I don't have time for family, house works, I don't drive that much since I work from home most of the time, the more I keep the car the more I decrease its' value, and ect. She forgot that I love my baby so much and already spent a lot of time/$$ into it. She is correct somehow, but I feel she's slowly expanding her "capability". Looking at the pics you guys posted at Ortega drive this morning, I came out and "touch" my car again this morning... and I feel weird that the more she wants it to go, the more time I need to spend with it.

And the bad part is she wants me to get a Lexus ES.

Those are not good enough reasons !!!. Get the Lexus herself !

rnln 10-13-2007 12:16 PM

She got a Lexus and it is the most reliable car. THat's is why.

"Would you give up your baby if your wife says so?"

A question I'll never have to answer. Life is good!

p.s. nice comeback, Todd.

Who says a Porsche is not a family car?

Why in the world would a wife insist on you getting rid of something you like and enjoy? If it's not putting a strain on the household financially and causing hardship, what does she care if you have a toy.

I mean just because she found out that when you drive the car, women swoon and throw their phone numbers at you....:D:D

Now it's the 911, next will be...whatever.....

mjshira 10-13-2007 12:26 PM

no way. you are still your own person, make your own decisions. the ladies love to see how much they can control us and influence our decisions. the problem is, we try and make them happy thinking they will remember we tried and or stay happy. that doesn't happen, they only want more control and more influence...

get this, then years later, they'll get frustrated or become less interested in you because you're less of a challenge...

so you are screwed either way, I'd rather keep the car you clearly have a passion for, than placate a wife who will simply move on to the next thing she wants you to do differently regardless of what decision you make in this case...

Perpetual bachelor for this very reason...

Did you say SmileWavy to your 'nads when you said "I do"?

rnln 10-13-2007 12:29 PM

Steve, Fox,
It's not about that. It's about the time I need to maintain/repair. My reason was to "keep it going". On the Lexus, I never have to do anything beside gas and oil. And it's, quiet, smooth, AC is perfect... and all the features we (crazy car heads) "never" need.
Actually, it's more like venting out to me. Not a decision to make, since I knew my decision :)
Thanks for listening and supporting.

Sounds like you're sold already.

She should be glad that you have interest in a 4 wheel toy rather than a 2 legged one...he he

In time you will hate the fact the she made you sell your pride and joy and loose respect for her. Might as well tell her now either accept the car or hit the road.

I concur...

When my girlfriend beyotches about the time I spend working on the cars, I ask her..."Would you rather me be here...

...or here?"

http://affiliate.genesisentertainmen...Large-225x.jpg

That usually shuts her up.

yelcab1 10-13-2007 12:47 PM

if you give in to her now, the next thing will be a louder set of speakers, bigger breast implants, longer pecker for you, and ... who knows what else you may have to put up with?

Blanco 10-13-2007 12:51 PM

no way. she goes but not the 911.

I just asked her and wifey said "I would never ask you to sell the 911, you love working on it" (smirk) working I guess thats better than nothing.

That pretty much sums it up...

DanielDudley 10-13-2007 12:52 PM

If you solve all of a womans problems, she will only find more for you to solve. Add to that a sense of diminshment if you give in, and possibly resentment that could last a while.

If you sell your car, do it on your terms, and only if you are going to trade up to something that will make you just as happy. Never forget that women only ''like'' nice guys. They LOVE MEN. Don't be going around being a nice guy. Be a man for God's sake. Keep it like a man, or sell it like a man. Always make sure your wife knows it was YOUR CHOICE.

IMO, you really want a new car. There are lots of 911s out there if you ever want another one. What do you really want ? Me, I'd be putting the wife in a minivan, and parking the 911 in the garage while driving the Lexus to work. And telling her daily how lucky she is to have me.

If that makes no sense to you, go see a therapist. A male therapist. No kidding.
