i pod question
Please don't laugh guys, I'll confess to being digitally ignorant.
Say I buy a new car with an I-pod port...is there any way I can dowload tunes from my vinyl collection to an ipod? I guess I'm cheap, but I can't see paying again for music I already have. |
Well if you convert your vinyl to mp3 you could.
There are many programs to do this but you need an audio input of some sort for your computer. I am converting mine to mp3, mainly tracks that I cannot find online. Things such as instrumentals and acapellas etc. I'm a DJ so, I need stuff like that. |
Yes, get any one of a slew of mp3 encoder programs (download it), then connect your turntable or other audio "out" jack to the input on the back of your computer's sound card. Encode away.

Thanks...I'm not sure what you mean, but it's sounding like it would cost more than it's worth. Maybe just tape the vinyl, have an old fashined tape deck installed in the new car...(edit) Nostatic, thanks for the info...I was responding when you provided the link. Looks cool!

A USB turntable for $100? That's cooler than hell. I may get one.
|
Yeah...then all I'd need is a computer savvy guy to teach me how to use the darn thing...

Nah, most USB stuff is Plug-and-Pray. :)
In all seriousness, most out-of-the-box USB stuff is pretty simple these days. |
