I did some of that while living in the Toyota Motel in the 70's. Baked potatoes were fine if you had enough gas money to get them done.

A guy I used to work with would cook his lunch by placing it on the intake manifold of the diesel air compressor we were using. The exhaust side was too hot. About a half-hour on the intake side was perfect.
