Barn find.... (really)

I have rented this garage for 3 years. I knew this thing was way up in front below a shelf where the landlord still has a few things. So, today I got to it and uncovered it. It has (had) 2.4 miles on it, now it has 2.8. Took me all afternoon to get the tank and carb cleaned up and running. (Yes, I did all the things I learned on the forums including some Marvel Mystery oil in the cylinder.)

I don't know if that will show up. Anyway, it was sold at Sears in 1978 and was made in Austria by Kromag. A Google says Kromag was sold at JC Penny. But, the data tag on the frame says sold at "most" Sears.

I'm pretty sure who owned it and left it there. He has since died and my landlord is his stepson. The stepson didn't even know it was in there! I mentioned it once a few months ago. I'm not sure what I'm gonna do with it, if anything. It looks brand new.

Thought you might like a good story.

Cool find!

Just remember riding a moped is like boning a fat chick. It's a lot of fun until your friends find out, then they'll laugh at you.

Hey, man, you can laugh all you want. It goes all of 25 MPH. Of course the first thing I did was nail it, just like my first day with the Carrera.

Why, thank you, sir.

I'll have to cruise the beach if I can find the one that isn't gay around here. (No offense to gays, I just don't need to be riding this along 4th Street, if you know what I mean. )

had one like this when I was 9 back in the 60's. found out after siphoning gas from my father's aviation fuel, I could do 10 mph faster. used the same bike years later to jump start my brother's education of mechanical devices by designating him my official spark checker as soon as he could walk. fun times!

Cool, nice gauge.

Cool find, like a time capsule. Now you need some tassels and a banana seat.

Whatever, man. That thing is COOL AS HELL. Congrats! You might need to put the mirror on the left side, though. I'm not sure about that.

The only way to ride a moped is wearing a cape.

Milt, that is really neat. I like mopeds too, and 2.4 miles is amazing. Almost certainly should replace the tires and tubes, though. Great find.
