American Gangster

Just got back from American Gangster. Denzel Washingtnon and Russell Crowe were amazing. Movie was awesome. Perfect crime/mob/gangster flick. Similar in ways to the Departed, but I think I liked this better. It was 2:40 long, but it didn't feel like it at all.

I highly recommend this one.

You need to buy yourself a decent toaster to go with that fancy coffee making machine . . . then you can, with a free conscience, suggest that PWD take his better half to a picture show.

Best,

Kurt

<--- Waiting for video or PPV. When is Hollywood going to wake up and start releasing movies on PPV at the same time as the theaters anyway? I know there was talk about it. I don't particularly feel like sitting in a room with a bunch of strange/weird/typically inconsiderate people I don't like and paying $50 for the "privilege". The chairs are more comfortable in my living room and the sound is almost as good.

The last time we went to the movies? As we exited, Cindy said: "Promise me...you'll NEVER suggest this again." I won't go into all the details of the unpleasant theater experience...I'm sure many here have gone through the same.

I hit the theaters up when I really think something is going to be good. Most of the time I am pretty happy with my choice.

But I can see where you guys are coming from. I paid $6.50 for a ticket last night in rural Ohio for a relatively small screen and no stadium seating. Back home its $5 and every theater in the complex was just redone so everything is stadium seating and perfect.

Also my friends and I are usually the causes of the unpleasant theater experiences for others. I will admit it. Typically though, the theaters are mostly filled with teenagers at the movies we see.

I'm guessing it was "Last Tango in Paris". The scene with the butter....

$14 in Malibu, I saw the early show for $10. (Bargain matinee). The film is very good, what else could it be with that assembly of talent. Denzel pretty much kills in every role he's ever had, same w/ Crowe. They just don't know any other way.

God Denis, $14 is ridiculous....I wouldn't see many movies for that., especially since you are often gambling on whether or not you will be entertained. The theater about 5 miles away that used to be "the" place to go until my local theater got remodeled charges $8.50 for tickets. We aren't going to go there anymore unless we happen to be out that way already.

Just out of curiosity, what does the local Blockbuster charge for a rental out in Malibu? Here in suburban Chicago its about $4.50~$5.00

Went and saw the movie tonight with my wife and some friends.
Very good movie, I really enjoyed it; based on the true story and very believable.

I often wonder what my life would be like if I'd chosen a life of chrime?
