The Vikings are just awful. . .

0:04 before the half, trying to go up 10-7 at the half by kicking a 58-yard FG. FG attempt falls short and is caught by the Chargers in the end zone, about 6" from the back. Run 109+ yards back for a TD so now instead of being up 10-7 (or at worst, tied 7-7) they're now down 14-7.

How exactly does a team let that happen to them?

Yup, as a Scandinavian I should file a law suit for incompetent use of the Viking name. :p

How bout them Lions... dropping a 30 burger on the Broncos

gprsh924 11-04-2007 11:31 AM

The problem is that they don't run down the field to cover the kick in case it falls short. That, and the fact that they have a bunch of slow offensive lineman in there for blocking so the return man gets a full head of steam and only has to juke a 300 pound white guy.

On kick-offs and punt coverage, the kicking teams have in coverage teams that consist of guys whose basically only job is to hit and stop the returns.

I'm just mad that he broke Devin Hester's record by one yard.

At least they look respectable in the second half. The coaching staff must've really lit into them (ya think?!?!)

They look awful good to me right now.
Good blocking , good running backs.

Sonic dB 11-04-2007 12:22 PM

35-17 and stupid CBS in LA is sticking with this game instead of switching to the Pats / Colts which is the much much bigger game...

grrr....:confused::mad:

I think we can start using the adjective: "GREAT" running back to describe Adrian Peterson! 296yds:eek:

Sonic dB 11-04-2007 12:23 PM

Peterson finished with 296 wow.

Don't feel too bad. I'm a Chief's fan.

Unfortunately, it would appear he's the whole team.

Seems like he's a good guy too. With any luck he'll remain that way, though I tend to doubt it.

I was there. Was about 20 yards from the catch of the failed field goal that got run back for the touchdown. It was the game of a lifetime. Two serious NFL records fell: longest play - 109 yards in the field goal return; and most rushing yards in a game - 296 yards by Adrian Peterson.

The Vikings can't evenkeep a good losing streak going. Now we're going the be stuck with Childress for another five years.

frogger 11-05-2007 07:08 AM

The Vikings were the first Europeans to discover North America. So, let's cut them some slack. :)

Porsche-O-Phile 11-05-2007 07:28 AM

Peterson is good, but I agree, he's one guy. One injury and the Vikings go 3-13 (or the prorated equivalent). Unless they play the Chargers I guess.

Mule 11-05-2007 08:57 AM

Peterson is way the ***** better than good. In fact, he's probably the goodest rb in the league right now.

It sounds like they've come down with a case of SS (Seahawks Syndrome). Pray to God they get over soon. It can last for decades.
