Hooray for A Michigan State Professor

The story begins at Michigan State University with a mechanical
engineering professor named Indrek Wichman. Wichman sent an e-mail to
the Muslim Student's Association. The e-mail was in response to the
students' protest of the Dani sh cartoons that portrayed the Prophet
Muhammad as a terrorist. The group had complained the cartoons were
"hate speech." Enter Professor Wichman. In his e-mail, he said the
following: Dear Moslem Association: As a professor of Mechanical
Engineering here at MSU I intend to protest your protest. I am
offended not by cartoons, but by more mundane things like beheadings
of civilians, cowardly attacks on public buildings, suicide murders,
murders of Catholic priests (the latest in Turkey ), burnings of
Christian churches, the continued persecution of Coptic Christians in
Egypt , the imposition of Sharia law on non-Muslims, the rapes of
Scandinavian girls and women (called "whores" in your culture), themurder of film directors in Holland, and the rioting and looting in
Paris France. This is what offends me, a soft-spoken person and
academic, and many, many of my colleagues. I counsel you dissatisfied,
aggressive, br utal, and uncivilized slave-trading Moslems to be very
aware of this as you proceed with your infantile "protests." If you
do not like the values of the West - see the
1st Amendment - you are free to leave. I hope for God's sake that most
of you choose that option Please return to your ancestral homelands
and build them up yourselves instead of troubling Americans.

As you can imagine, the Muslim group at the university didn't like
this too well. They're demanding that Wichman be reprimanded and the
university impose mandatory diversity training for faculty and mandate
a seminar on hate and discrimination for all freshmen. Now the localchapter of CAIR has jumped into the fray. CAIR, the Council on
American-Islamic Relations, apparently doesn't believe that the good
professor had the right to express his opinion. For its part, the
university is standing its ground in support of Professor Wichman ,
saying the e-mail was private, and they don't intend to publicly
condemn his remarks. Send this to your friends, and ask them to do the
same. Tell them to keep passing it around until the whole country gets
it. We are in a war. This political correctness crap is getting old
and killing us. If you agree with this, please send it to all your
friends, if not simply delete it.

I am beginning to lose hope that as a country we might perhaps someday attain a level of understanding, if not respect, for the faith they place in their religion. We must learn to distinguish between peaceful practices and hateful extremism. This professor is holding an entire religion responsible for the acts of a few members. Yet again, the american stereotype is perpetuated!

Your misguided attitude about tolerance is to blame for our weakness. A good idea taken way too far until it becomes bad.

How can you call that peaceful? It isn't.

Thhere is a very large building near where I live called the islamic institute of Orange County. Supposedly a peacful place even though known terrorists (and two suicide bombers) have been tied to it and to it's teachers, one of who has gone on record calling for a jihad.
A few months ago a single man decided to picket that place. He got beaten badly for walking on the sidewalk carrying a sign. it did not make the papers and no charges were filed.
Evidently the press felt it was an isolated incident and wasn't worth stirring up trouble over.
Rumor has it that the man did not press charges because he was told he and his family would die if he did. I can't provide any concrete details because it was buried but lots of people around here know about it.
Yep, sounds pretty peaceful to me.

When the muslim religon starts fighting againt the radicals who kill in the name of islam, I will start to believe they don't support them. until then, I won't.

Are you out of your F'ing mind ?? what part of this culture shall we "understand" the part where they cover up and circumsize their women ? Insist on foot baths in public restrooms? Where check out workers at grocery stores sue the grocery store because they have to touch pork products that people are buying ? The list goes on and on.. This country was built on people assimilating into OUR society NOT having zero tolerence towards it. If they don't like our culture they can ****** leave!! What's next ? Will they be burning our books? Stoning us for drinking alchohol ? Screw them and screw Allah..
Now if they want to act/become Americans I'm ok with that. Let their women wear Levi's , watch MTV, and condemn the terrorism that their religion supports.

hmmm, I agree and disagree. I don't understand some of their cultural habits and certainly don't agree with a lot of them.

This country was not built on people assimilating into our society, if it was we'd be doing rain dances and living in teepees.

This country was built on the mix of people from varied cultures who immigrated here and has spun off distinct geographic/regional sub cultures.

Every wave of immigrants added a different spice to the pot and that continues today.

Really all of that is irrelevant.

The one and only thing that matters is if you don't like it here then leave.

Understand that we are all tolerant of each others original cultures and live together sometimes enduring things that may offend us.

If you can't do that, you should leave. I'll even give you a ride to the airport.

Live by the established laws of this country. If you don't like them then leave.

Stomachmonkey, of course you're correct. The part that every culture has assimilated is a tolerance of others.. Clearly we're dealing with a religion here that ( for the most part) doesn't have the same tolerance. That's what I have a problem with ( in addition to the way they treat their women).

Certainly. All it takes is a sucessful sexual-discrimination by a muslim woman against a muslim man, and the US gov sides against Allah. Back to square one.
