NFL Network-this is sick.

I aplogise to any hard core NFL fans out there, but the NBC telecast is a shame to all of us who like football. They have Cris Collingsworth, and Some Gumball, who really dont know football. It's some drab, followed by some drab, followed by some *****. If this is what the NFL is going to, GOD help us. Oh, sorry, most of you wont be seeing this game because its only on a few stations......... Its the NFL network .... Just wait, soon you will all pay for the game YOU want to see on TV. F*ck the NFL and all the stations that carry it http://forums.pelicanparts.com/ultimate/icons/icon9.gif

I once felt the same as you, and then I switched to Dish Network.

The cable companies and NFL network have been in a pissing match for several years now. Unfortunately the customers are getting caught in the middle.

As I understand it, the NFL network wants to be placed into cable's "Basic" package. Cable says no way, NFL network will be a premium channel. NFL network says "pound sand". Lawyers then take over...whee!

I'm sick of all commentators. They do nothing but drivel on about stupid statistics and constantly state and restate the painfully obvious. "If the (fill in the blank) are going to win they are going to have to score some points". No *****, you dumbas$.

I have to agree with Rick... I'm not a super big football fan but satellite has a much better lineup for the same or less money and the same quality signal.

I did enjoy the Colts game last night... unfortunately Thanksgiving dinner interrupted the Cowboys game... Packers/Cowboys game should be interesting next week.

Say what you want, but the NFL network is 100 times better than those asshat pinheads at NBC with their green political BS.

Gumbel belongs on C-SPAN, not football games.

svandamme 11-24-2007 08:46 AM

watch Rugby instead, none of that mickey mouse BS, on the pitch or in the commentary

I was just listening to Jim Rome. An emailer sent in "I really like the sound of Briant Gumbell's voice.

Amen...The only commentator I don't mind is Al Michaels.

IMO, worst of the worst are Simms and Madden. Kornheiser and Gumbel aren't far behind.

Nathans_Dad 11-30-2007 10:15 AM

Gumbel was horrible last night, even for his standards. I swear he called the Cowboys the Packers about 5 times in the first 10 minutes. He also had such gems as "Marion Barber is the heartbeat of the Packers offense." HUH?!?!?

Are you even watching the game?

NFL network surely can get a better play by play guy than Gumbel...he is the worst I have ever seen.

The other one that about made me blow an aneurysm was how a player would be down 2-3 yards past the 1st down marker and he would say "He APPEARS to have made enough for the first down." No *****...what was your first clue?

Mule 11-30-2007 10:33 AM

There's no shortage of bad ones out there. I constantly shake my head at the incompetency of broadcasters.

dd74 11-30-2007 12:17 PM

ESPN has the best commentators. The NFL Network outright sucks. Their live feed via the internet for the Packers/Cowboy game was abysmal, Joe's Diner was just stupid, and the clowns who for some reason, needed to analyze the game every ten minutes, sounded almost ghetto.

When "Neon" Deion Sanders came on, I gave up the ghost for the Rutgers/Louisville game -- on real TV, no less...

strupgolf 11-30-2007 12:44 PM

I didn't see the game last night, (cable), but I was at a friends house and he had DirecTV, something like 600 channels, and HE didn't get it either. I'm glad though, because I could'nt put up with no-brain Gumbul for another game. The past guys who worked for CBS, NBC, etc, really knew how to call a game, except for Bob Trumphy.

Why did they get rid of Joe Theisman?
