Dubya is showcasing his negotiation skills.

frogger 11-27-2007 09:32 AM

Better late than never. Still, WHY SO DAMNED LATE W? :)

Superman 11-27-2007 09:54 AM

Indeed, Dubya's timing is interesting. Along with all his other decisions.

After three years being too afraid to ask - what is the story behind the name 'Dubya' ?

Has The Decider become The Negotiator?

George W Bush

Dubya refers to W., middle initial, to clarify between he and his dad, George H.W. Bush during the first election.

An aside, when the Clintons moved out of the white house, someone took the letter 'W' off of many of the computer keyboards there. (Not to be confused with Hillary who tried to take most of the furniture).

livi 11-27-2007 10:22 AM

OK, thanks guys.

Is Hillary a cleptomaniac ? How ironic if she should return as President. Having to move back all the furniture in the dark of night threw the back door.

At least the press has a realistic assessment of the situation this time.

When Clinton tried it, it was doomed to fail, yet you'd think Jesus Christ, Allah, and Yawveh were having the conference the way the press covered it...

Hope for success will do that. There's little of that this time. But, who knows?

There was less chance for success then than now. For one, Arafat was still alive. He had zero intention of holding to any agreement. "Peace in the Middle East" would have destroyed his power.

Rick Lee 11-27-2007 11:15 AM

Man, Rabin must be rolling in his grave. He offered Arafat land for peace, Arafat said no. They still both got the Nobel Prize, Rabin got shot by a nutcase and now there's even talk of him getting out of prison after only 10 yrs. for murdering a head of state. What's the world coming to? Arafat's legacy is carried on by Hamas taking power and Israel has an extremely weak-willed PM batting for them now. Yeah, I'd say Annapolis is a photo opp. and Bush has just about nothing to do with it.
