Trade a ride for concert tickets 2008!!!!!!

Alrighty, everybody.

I know some of you saw my thread about this time last year:

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?t=325834

I was looking to buy another car, and I wanted some seat time in more 911s, either as a driver or passenger.

During the course of that thread, I figure I rode in about 20 Pelican rides and learned a lot about our fantastic cars, and the interesting people who drive them.

SO WHY NOT DO IT AGAIN?

At the end of that trip, I flew to Kansas City and picked myself up a cherry '83 SC that I love. Sadly, there's no new car at the end of this tunnel for me (unless super-stardom strikes mid-tour!). However, the REAL experiment and the very best part about last time was meeting Pelicans from all over our great country and "PUTTING FACES TO THE NAMES." It was great fun, and I see no reason not to do it again.

So, please check out my band:

And you would like to come see a show, We'd love to have you.
More dates in TX and the midwest will come for March, as well. I'll edit this post as they come in.

HERE'S THE DEAL:
The first person to send me a PM and agree to DRIVE your Porsche to my hotel or venue during the afternoon and GIVE ME A RIDE will get at least 2 FREE TICKETS and (almost always) passes to the show. Show me your car, show me what you've done to it, and show me why you love it soooooo much. Educate me. I don't want to drive your car, I want to see you drive it so I can learn something.

Then, come to the show and we'll have a good 'ol time. PatrickB has requested more emphasis on "boobs" this year, and Moses has put in a bid for more "Jessica Alba look-alike" content. ALL PG-13, of course.

Actually, he wanted "More Jessica Alba Content", but I'm not sure I can swing it. She's staying home lately, what with the pregnancy and all.

In some cities where there's more than a few guys comin' down (LA, maybe SF or some other places) I'm hoping to organize a dinner-meet-up party or something, if there's enough interest.

In addition, I'm hoping to get a little more variety. Jeff Higgins' '72T was the only early car we had last year. SO this year, if you have a 914, 930, 944, 951, (935, 962, 904 LOL) or a 996 or 997, or even a shark, don't be shy! And if you sign up, don't worry. I won't make you drive your car in a foot of snow just to keep up your end of the deal.

SO WHAT DO YOU THINK? LET'S HAVE SOME FUN! thanks!

Gogar

I'm in! Bummer that we have to wait until April though :(.

bell 12-26-2007 06:46 PM

03/01/2008 Cleveland, OH House of Blues Cleveland

i'm there and will show you the linearity all the way up to the rev limiter in my 85' 3.2 :)
but being it's cleveland we won't know what kind of snow we'll have until the day of the show.......i'm not afraid of salt or snow, that's why god made pressure washers.....it's the morons without good tires in hoopties i'm afraid of :D
yes i'll let you drive my car.....have a newly rebuilt 915 and a sachs power grip clutch so you won't hurt it :)
i'll take that saturday off of work so we can meet up early this time (no big deal, i like saturdays off :D)

Gogar 12-26-2007 06:50 PM

Oh, I forgot. If you have a 959, that's ok too. ;)

rcecale 12-26-2007 07:14 PM

Count me in for January 12 at the Roxy!

Jeremy, if there's anything I can do for you guys while you're here, lemme know! :D

Randy

Moses 12-26-2007 07:18 PM

Wouldn't miss it. This time YOU'RE DRIVING!

89911 12-26-2007 07:34 PM

Pittsburgh in deep February is no place for a rear wheel drive, rear engine car......but.....weather permitting I'll try to hook up. I'll contact you when the time grows closer.

Michael.

Gogar 12-26-2007 07:35 PM

No problem, Michael. Like I said, it's not necessarily about the cars all the time.

Rick Lee 12-26-2007 07:38 PM

I think I'll be living in Phoenix by the time you guys play there. If I'm still here in Feb., I won't be bringing the 993 anywhere near the place you're playing in DC. And you shouldn't be driving any kind of car in that neighborhood anyway.

charleskieffner 12-26-2007 07:48 PM

your on. wouldnt miss it ! wait til you see my new SOMBRERO!

PINK FUZZ and PINK DINGO BALLS around the entire rim! MUY AUTHENTICO! and hollys new purple jaguar print "SUPERFLY" pimp hat!

talk about ROCK AND ROLL STYLING!

hell you guys will be laughing so hard when we pull up in p-car, you'll probably lock us up in your tour bus, just to get rid of us for the set!

Gogar 12-26-2007 07:50 PM

Thank goodness, Chuck. We are trying to place more of an emphasis on hot chicks this time around, and I know you got one.

Maybe we can get Rick Lee to come too, and your girls can have a "CUTE DOWN."

equality72521 12-26-2007 07:51 PM

Damn, my 930 won't be back together by the Cincinnati date. You're welcome to come over and see the car in it's semi-assembled state though. Can't take you for a ride but I'll let you sit in it. :D

VaSteve 12-26-2007 07:56 PM

Hell, I could you meet you at the 9:30 in DC. I could drive the 944. It's still a Porsche and more in danger of being towed as a derelict car than I'm worried about it getting stolen/scratched. :D The new suspension might be a bit much for the streets of DC. :D

charleskieffner 12-26-2007 07:56 PM

even with the purple jaguar pimp hat i'll make sure shes dressed up real PURTY! since you have a 'lil time btwn shows the "those were the good 'ol days(?) brit bike tour" is still a go. roughly an hour up and hour back from tempe.

TimT 12-26-2007 08:29 PM

I can hook you up with a 935, 996GT3RS, 914/6 or early 911 racecar..

None of the cars are street legal so you'll have to get to the track..You can drive any of them... I'll sit co-pilot and keep you out of trouble..

Funny though... Pickle Barrel... I saw you guys years ago there..

The only track between Killington and NYC is LIme Rock... and it aint open in Feb

Well, I can hook you up with Jessica Alba, but since the pregnancy, she's not flying east.

Yes, that is one of the hitches in my giddyup with trying to do this in the winter. Thanks, though, Tim!

bigchillcar 12-26-2007 10:19 PM

Gogar 12-26-2007 10:38 PM

Yeah I'd like to see the post-spinout bigchillcar in action. And, it probably goes faster without snow all over it.
:p

Oh yeah, maybe we should all start posting pics.
