Looks like I may need to carpool for a bit. Still have NY plates on my car.

the other Manning finally gets it done...the G men got way too conservative with the play calling at the end, but they held on

VincentVega 01-13-2008 05:02 PM

That was a great game. As bad as the G-Men looked earlier in the season I am surprised they were able to turn it around. Tiki who? :)

JCF 01-13-2008 05:04 PM

Which team had the worse coach ?

That's a tie I think.

JCF 01-13-2008 05:06 PM

What a strange (and happy day/ weekend) of football.
Both teams today looked like they could have no chance without KEY players.
Both won.

GUTS

I knew it was coming, and I'm sure a boat load of Cowboy fans did too. The Giants are good. I don't think you'll have concerns going to work.

Unless i run into Mrs. Lube. Mike says she's a rabid fan. They were at the game today.

mattdavis11 01-13-2008 05:21 PM

Well in that case I'd mind my p's and q's while shuffling along 2499.

JCF 01-13-2008 05:43 PM

There is no way the Giants should have won that game as beat up as they were and with Dallas having all their weapons back..
And Dallas with two tries at the end from 60 yards out.
Esp. with the Giants coaching. They only needing one first down those last two "drives" - it was very strange to see how conservatively and timidly the Giants played them.

Romo fell apart.

I noticed a few games this year that the offensive line of Dallas was a WALL untill the end of the game. Then the defenses started to get through.

Kids! Many of you too young to remember an old Broadway musical, "Those Damn Yankees"....The signature song of that Broadway hit says it all....

"You gotta have heart. Miles and miles and miles of heart.

When the odds say you're not gonna win, that's when the grin should start..."

This weekend? The NFL playoffs? Boy did I ever see a LOT OF HEART!

I hope I don't anger anybody here...but next weekend? I'll do the same as I did this weekend. That is, root for the underdog! Sometimes, with enough heart...the underdog wins.

Admit it Paul - You're a Pats hater.
...and that's ok too.

Nathans_Dad 01-13-2008 06:43 PM

It was painful. I was there, 40 yard line seats. When they had the ball on the Giant 23 with 31 seconds left I really thought the game was over, touchdown TO. I'm really in shock, it was just one of those games you kept expecting them to pull out.

Oh well, when is the draft again??

Not really...I just like to root for the underdog. The superbowl year the 49ers creamed Denver? The fans chanting "Ell wayyy...Ell wayyy"? I suddenly found myself rooting for the Broncos. What did the Broncos lose by? I forget....

I guess it's that having felt like I was the underdog most of my life, I root for them.

Joe Willie is still a hero of mine...Superbowl '69!

Was Jessica there?

Nathans_Dad 01-13-2008 07:26 PM

No Jessica at this one. Funny thing though, someone paid for one of those airplanes with the banner behind it, it said "Tony, good luck (heart) Jessica". Wanna bet it was someone from New York? I gotta admit I got a laugh out of that.

I think it's cool the Giants won. Of course, my wife has always been a Cowboys fan. And she's from SoCal! I gotta say it though: I am rooting hard for the Packers.... nothing more than nostalgia of Favre really. It's a pipe dream probably, but who knows...

mattdavis11 01-13-2008 07:37 PM

The Packers will be in the Super Bowl. They won't lose to another AFC team either.

Not in '69...but one wonders how many kids Joe Willie really has...;)

I wouldn't make such a bold prediction. The Packers are pretty good, pretty balanced nowadays, but I think the Pats receivers would give them a big challenge. Also, there's those pesky keep-winning-on-the-road Giants to contend with first. :)
