Its German

Yep this is a German revolver made by Korth. There are only about 100 made per year by HAND. These are exclusive revolvers of the highest quality. They are touted as being the most expensive revolver made. As in the $7000.00 range in 2006. Since then the $$$ has declined somewhat. This paticular item is 357 Mag with extra 9MM cylinder, 4" Barrel with Case ( a $600 addition). The cylinders are both made from a single Billet of steel, and once the gun is ordered the extra cylinder cannot be made. Lets just say I got this one on the cheap...

Sweet. I love 357's. My first handgun was a SW 357 with a 6" barrel. Most accurate handgun I have.

Nice. Will you take it out to play or is it destined to become a safe queen?

Why can't you own it in CA?

The CA State Government says you can't. Korth has not submitted one for the state mandated drop test to prove it isn't a "Saturday Night Special."

As much as I like German 'mechanical devices' I find it hard to warm up to a revolver from there, ie you think German handgun and is .357 the first thing that pops into your mind? Given that amount of worth I would be looking for one of the scarcer C96 Mausers. That said, I'm glad the thing has found a good home.

The C96 Mauser aka Broomhandle isn't rare. A very knowledgeable friend of mine said the Freedom Arms and Korth are the 2 most accurate revolvers made. Oh well I can't shoot anyway, at least not well enough to make a difference.

I'm still partial to a Colt Python, for around $1100 it is hard to beat. I have known and seen Korths for a very long time. The idea of putting out that kind of money for a new production revolver is obscene to me, so I never seriously entertained having one. However when one drops in your lap for a bit more than a Python Hunter package ya gotta go for it. I imagine within a coupla years Pythons will be closing in on what I paid for a Korth. So U might say this was a completely opportunistic play on my part.
