Detroit's Mayor...

This guy is so corrupt.. lol. Kwame Kilpatrick has long been suspected of corruption, including allegations of hundreds of thousands of dollars rang up on city credit cards... to the death of a stripper who hours earlier attended one of his parties at his mansion a few years back.

This latest situation: he was accused of having an affair with his chief of staff...so he fired the police officers that were investigating that situation...they sued and won $9million from the city... under oath Kilpatrick claimed that there was never an affair...however just this past week, 14000 text messages to her were uncovered, including some very explicit sexual ones. Busted, he came out and said that that happened when he was in a difficult time in his life...ignoring the perjury that happened when he lied under oath in the court case.

Beatty: "And, did you miss me, sexually?"
Kilpatrick: "Hell yeah! You couldn't tell. I want some more.

Now, this report comes out that he was in a posh resort last week with a different woman, not his wife... possibly a hooker or a different affair....

This guy lives large.... literally. Link.check out this video:

I grew up in Detroit area, when Coleman Young was raping the city of its resouces and led an administation filled with corruption, yet the voters of that city kept puting him in.... I dont live there any more, but it is interesting to see that the more things change, they stay the same in that backwards hellhole of a city.

This guy is toast. :D

Chocaholic 01-26-2008 05:41 AM

Sonic...like you, I grew up there. Moved away in 1989 and haven't looked back. If any city is in need of an honest, responsible leader, it's Detroit. But, he'll continue to live like a king on the backs of paupers. And they'll keep re-electing him.

Stupid is as stupid does.

Oh Haha 01-26-2008 06:17 AM

So why did the dumba$$es re-elect him?

red-beard 01-26-2008 06:18 AM

I guess the voters are about as smart as those in Wash DC.

Oh Haha 01-26-2008 06:20 AM

Maybe they brought in the same voters that reelected Ray Nagin?

frogger 01-26-2008 06:44 AM

Or GW Bush. ;)

Not likely, as with most corrupt local dem governments with black leaders, he will get a pass, and the black community will reelect him, it happened in DC, it happened in NOLA, on a national level, out of FL, corrinr brown. The dem black community seems to love corrupt leaders, they keep reelecting them:confused:

Come on Byron , It aint just black people what about ......Huey Long, the first Richard Daley, Big Bill Thompson, Tammany Hall ? the list is endless on non-blacks that keep/kept getting re-elected dispite their crimes.

.....

Hey, it worked for the Clintons. You know that lying about sex is okay. It's not sleazey.... all the Dem's say so.

Sonic,

I too grew up in the Detroit area when Coleman Young was raping the city, trafficing krugerrands, and his and the city council's scheme to sell the police weapons to a local Detroit firm to purchase upgraded firearms. Dennis Archer had a good plan for the city but was never "one of the boys" and refused to run for a 3rd term.

Don't forget the second Richard Daley.

From what I gather, Kilpatrick is repeatedly elected despite his corruption because of his skin color. Every time some company gets enticed to "revitalize Detroit", he and his cronies line up with their hands out. The costs quickly quadruple.

I grew up in the area, and I lived in Detroit as a child, then for about 3 years after college.

Corruption and incompotence are nothing new under the sun, and one finds it in any culture. Poor black folks have low expectations for themselves, and this is reflected in their leaders.

There is probably same level of corruption and idiocy in poor, rural white communitys, but those communitys are in the hinterlands. No one cares if there is corruption in MoosePee Wisconsin.

Frankly, I think the national press is biased. I didn't believe this when I was younger, but as I have gotten older (and MUCH more conservative in most ways), I do see a subtle bias in the way blacks are handled by the press.

Are they 'looters', or 'survivors looking for food'?

Brings to mind an Chris Rock bit:

"You know who I wanna meet? I wanna meet the guy who lost the election to Marion Barry. How'd his campaign commercial go? DON'T VOTE FOR MARION, HE"S SMOKING CRACK. (wraps mike cord around his arm & slaps at the inside of his elbow) VOTE FOR ME. I"M SHOOTIN' SMACK!"

Sounds like a vast white wing conspiracy, just like when they video taped Marion, smoking crack, in the hotel room, with the whore.

The wheels are starting to come off in NO too. The previous mayor, Mark Morial is about the only member of his administration not under indictment or in jail. They may be getting close to getting the goods on him. He currently is president of the Urban League & tries to stay away from NO. I'm thinking his next move may be to either jail or a third world country to avoid prosecution.

bt1211 01-26-2008 11:14 AM

I grew up in Chicago, so there is no amount of corruption that I have never heard of before.

To imply that blacks(and those in Moosepee,Wi.) are more willing to re-elect a crook, than a person such as yourself, is condescending (and to use low self-esteem as a motive for voting????). Could it be that the elected has a way to get you to vote for them, ya know, like keeping your job, getting you a job or maybe giving you some of those stolen resoursces?

What difference do you think a person in MoosePee gives about a vote in Detroit? Corruptions effect is the same in both places.

Do black leaders get a pass in the media? Yes, but you can use the same argument for any group of people that that media is trying sell their product to. Do Rep get a pass on FOX?

To say that only blacks re-elect dumbasses when history has shown since the beginning of democracy that every race has done it is to imply that blacks cant be trusted with their vote. I dont see anybody saying that whites have low self-esteem because of who they vote for(unless of course they live in MoosePee, WI.).

You are correct, I was going by ones who got caught committing crimes, some convicted, then being reelected or blindly defended. Look up what corrine brown has gotten away with over the years, and how she has played the race card to keep out of jail. Locally we have had many problems, but passes are given and excuses are made. As long as black leaders keep the communities believing they are victims, they will stay victims.:(

Mule 01-26-2008 01:15 PM

In modern times, not too many people go to jail for corruption, get out & get re-elected like Marion did. By the way, he was the one who said whitey was out to get him. I just re-phrased it.

bt1211 01-26-2008 01:40 PM

Marion Barry's re-election is an example that makes everyone say "what the fcuk"? Even the people running his camp had to say"what the fcuk".

Do black leaders manipulate the black population with their talk of "whitey's" out to get them and everything they do is OK because"whitey" is prejudice? OF course.

People are easily fooled into doing your bidding. Always have been, always will.

Democracy has a flaw that the "unwashed masses" do get to vote. I'm not saying that they shouldn't but sometimes those "unwashed" vote for something that's not on the ballot.

All true. We even have one here locally. But why also do so many white GOP guys keep getting convicted...or taking wide stances?;)

URY914 01-26-2008 02:14 PM

Look at Bill Clinton, the first black president. Look what he got away with. :D
