Surely I'm not the only one who finds this absurd. We joke that next year Pirelli will run out of superlatives and have to add "Ridiculous Soft" and "Ludicrous Soft" and go to plaid... I think FOM is telling them to just label whatever compounds they bring to each event hard, medium and soft next year, so only the teams have to worry about the true "softness" of the tyres.

Imagine trying to wear all the compounds in '18 or '19

I flew on an airplane like this in Europe. Greece maybe. Dented in a good foot and a half or so. No problem I guess.

That is simply clearance for the horizontal stabilizer to pivot up and down. It pivots so the pilot can trim the airplane for level flight.

Read an article that had the engines at $30K each when new...which is over $200K today. I like this guy's take on it:

Australian Spitfires in the Pacific During World War II

The Spitfire was not a good Pacific War aircraft. It had short range, logistics had to travel across the world from Britain to Australia and it was fragile in comparison to the American aircraft of the same era. However, it is a beautiful aircraft aesthetically and was loved by the pilots that flew it.
