Is that thing the black arrow is pointing at some kind of mini version of a Kentucky Gofaster or does that rubber looking thing serve some other purpose?

Saturday May 25, 1963. Paul Russo is in Wally Weir’s orange and black #53 Spirit of St. Louis Watson/Offy. It is Jim Rathmann’s winning 1960 car built new that year by A.J. Watson as a customer car for the Ken-Paul team. Rathmann also drove it in the 500 in 1961 and 1962 with Smokey Yunick as Chief Wrench. While it wouldn’t make the race in 1963 it would for one last time in the 1964 500.

something weird about it..

that front indicator light doesn't fit a Golf Mk1
golf mk1 or 2 did not have a corner side indicator light.

And it really screws up the lines that it does have one. so does the striping and that silly spoiler up top

US and Euro GTIs had a few minor differences. The roof spoiler wasn't commonly seen. The black GTI has Euro bumpers, however.

That is a US built Rabbit, they all had those corner lights.

Spoiler is not stock.

The interior is also different, the velour feels like a chevy.

Did someone say GTI.
My first love! An '84 with all Neuspeed suspension, Techtonics Tuned Exhaust, Zender rear spoiler and side skirts, cruiser control, sun roof and A/C.

I purchased a Momo aluminum ball shift knob to replace the factory golf ball. That shift knob then went into my Jetta GLX, then my '88 Carrera and now it's in my '90 C4.

Couldn't illustrate it better myself, thank you ... note 'screen is flush, neat, faired top & bottom w/ square corners. As i understand it of 4 P-F bodied (all LHD) #2056 & 59 survive, plus #2070 above (body on #2057 originally) a replica on #2060 - whose body is on #2089.
