I had a 63 international scout 4x4 like that when I was about 21 It was fun. I wish I could own it again. it had sliding plexiglass windows on the passenger side and a wind up from some newer year on the other. vacuum wipers. no power, half a worn out V8 but it would still climb like a goat. almost no brakes..
we used to go climbing a huge crazy steep hill. others had big V 8's and would go bouncing like crazy. I had quite a few friends that rolled over on that hill. it was a challenge. my truck would go slow and steady but it had LSD and lots of traction warn hubs. stiff suspension.

it had a removable back cover like a bronco. I removed it and had two beautiful ladies with me, no roll bar, no seat belts. It had less traction so I had to back straight down a ridiculously steep hill because it got to the top and all the wheels would spin but no forward motion.. I threw it in reverse let the clutch out and guided it back down but I was so scared it would roll over. i even asked them to get out before I backed down the hill.. I knew what could happen. they refused.. stupid things kids do.
I loved how simple it was..
