I remember reading an article by Phil Hill where he said the aerodynamics of teh Disco Volante made it pretty touchy at speed.

Years ago, R&T had a "Salon" article about a young kid -16ish- who fell in love with this beautiful sports car at a used car lot. He saved & borrowed to buy it, and it turned out to be one of the original Alfa BAT prototype cars. Silver... what a gorgeous car.

Yeah, it was a wing. As far as The BAT series go, this was the most outrageous -

Yes, but I was only kidding, it's not in my garage! I got a couple urgent emails! That was found in a garage in Austria, I think. It's a shame, many of the shwimmers were used as target practice after the war or just beat to death. Some were "liberated" by farmers.
