That's the last survivor of 6 factory built '63 Tempest Super Duty wagons. 421 CI.

It's scheduled to be auctioned at Mecum's Indy event next month.

Wow - very cool. Mecum even says it has a 4 speed transaxle. Why would a drag car need a transaxle?

That "442" wagon based on the Olds Vista crusier is pretty cool.

With the exception of the body, the mechanicals on my 68 Sportwagon are exactly the same as the GS400 for that year (mine has a lower ratio rear diff). I have been toying with the idea of finding a hood, and the correct ram air parts for it and making a GS400 Wagon. Although the originality of mine will probably win out.
