Came dangerously close to buying one of these this summer. You can get a real decent one for 4-5k, a rough but running one for $2-3k. Rust is the biggest problem. There's a guy nearby with half a dozen of them rotting in his yard... bought them as a combined lot at an army auction

it's a bolt-in swap to put a vw diesel engine.

He is making another hood (I dropped off one for him to pull a mold off of) and that crest lights up, as will the plates on the wing..

Nope, he is building his dream car, did everything himself, including the int.

These pix's alway make me ill. My guess this is a early post war pix, maybe the PI.... anyway somewhere in the pacific, they didn't want to ship home.
