Location: Placerville, CA.... You know, the only place on Highway 50 between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe the you find signal lights. Above the fog most of the time and I can see the stars of the Milky Way 8 out of 10 nights. Kinda cool.....

Chino 2013 - most P-38's I ever saw in the air at one time. I was told they left from Chino and ONT for battle back in the day. Full disclosure - I think I've posted these somewhere on PP before...

no, range is the same but the gunfire is more effective.

on other aircraft the nose was full of engine, so the guns were mounted in the wings, some distance apart

they were angled inwards or harmonized so that they formed a cone that concentrated the fire at a particular point

at ranges greater or less than the ideal point the fire was less concentrated

nose mounted guns were still harmonized but the sweet spot was much larger
