Sandy Olson restored one. His is a 1931 (Twin Coach - owned by Fageol at that time). He painted it in Helms Bakery livery, similar to the one in your photo. We featured it in Vintage Truck a few years ago. They are rare as hen's teeth and if you find one it is likely worn out and rusted to pieces. Sandy is a great guy.
The Fageol's gave their company the odd name of "Twin Coach" because they got in the business of building buses with twin engines - Buicks, I think.

WW2 in Colour: StuG IV for Sale(!)

Unternehmen Greif – Ersatz StuG « chaosbunker.de

Quote:
Warlord took care of the Ersatz Stug as well, in their article on how to convert one, but I did a bit of research, took reference pictures from panzer wrecks and model kits, and build my own. The field conversion of the StuG is still unclear. Skorzeny commented, that it couldn't fool a private in the night, as the modification were rather basic. Mainly covering the engine compartment, adding different styled skirts and US markings. Some say, it was meant to resemble a M7 priest.

Widely deployed in roles their designers had not envisaged, these two armored fighting vehicles clashed repeatedly during the 11-month campaign that saw the Allies advance from Normandy to the heart of the Reich. Fully illustrated with specially commissioned artwork, this is the story of their confrontation at the height of World War II.

M7 Priest Sexton

M7 Priest self-propelled artillery

Quote:
The shape of this turret is reminiscent of the pulpits of the churches, where the priests pronounce their sermon, so the M7 is very quickly called “Priest”

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M10_tank_destroyer

Quote:
The M10 used the General Motors 6046, consisting of two Detroit Diesel 6-71 inline engines mated to a common crankshaft. The tandem engine produced 375 horsepower (280 kW) at 2,100 rpm. One advantage of the GM 6046 was that the engines could be disconnected at will from the crankshaft and run independently. If one of the engines was damaged or destroyed, it could be disconnected and the other engine used to move the vehicle.

Tank Archives: Halfway to the Hellcat

Quote:
Engine compartment of the T49 and T67 tank destroyers.

Quote:
A telling comparison. The T49 GMC was not only lower than the Medium Tank M4, but lower than medium tank destroyers.

Quote:
The Christie springs as seen clearly on this photo. The T67 GMC was the last American vehicle built in metal to use this type of suspension.

The M18 Hellcat Tank Destroyer
https://armyhistory.org/the-m18-hellcat-tank-destroyer/

Quote:
As was the case of many U.S. armored fighting vehicles during the war in Europe, Hellcat crews proved adept at developing new tactics when taking on German tanks by learning the strengths and weaknesses of the M18 in combat situations. In addition to using the Hellcats’ speed to get into position to fire on the flanks of German tanks, Hellcat crews learned that a well placed shot between the mantlet and the glacis plate of a Panther would cause the shell to ricochet into the driving compartment, killing the crew or disabling the tank.

The lifespan of the Strv 103 indicates how good of a tank it was. The tanks were phased out of service in 1997, 30 years after their adoption.

How many of us have driven past the Chiriaco summit offramp on the 10 fwy and never stopped to check out the General Patton museum?
I finally stopped last year. Pretty cool.

That seem like an interesting place and have always wanted to visit but traveling with wife and kids out E on the 10 is not always the best idea to detour to see the Patton museum. My cycling buddy lives next to his dad's house or the house General Patton grew up in the City of San Marino, on Patton Way. Only if that place can talk, I love to the fly on the wall. I hear that General Patton would have friends high up on the military show up and have informal meetings there.
