Effudex is the same chemo chemical they use for colon cancer.

My doc said put it on until you can’t stand it anymore (weeks) then come in.

I swear the guy is a gore junky.

Yikes…what are we looking at there?

The thread sort of evolved into talking about skin cancer stuff. This is the results of using a product called Efudix.

Crowbob 03-29-2022 05:51 PM

Actinic keratosis undergoing topical chemotherapy with Effudex or similar.

AK is precancerous usually due sun exposure. Effudex cream interrupts cell division at a certain age of developing skin cells so they die. Once enough skin cells have died you stop using effudex and the skin heals rapidly better than new.

It's like a targeted chemical burn. Needs to be done every so often, like 10 years or whatever, depending.

Back in the 70's that was the rule. Bikers and rebels wore one earring in the left ear. Anything else was considered 'wrong'. It got confusing when in the 80's you'd see a guy with both ears pierced.
I'm surprised at the angry old men screaming about someone elses fashion. Weren't we the ones with long hair, paisley shirts, and blue jeans?

I don't doubt that eye shadow, mascara and other forms of makeup are popular with some males. Not this guy. And I did not care for IPA beer even before I saw my first man bun.

Theres a relationship with tattoos, earings and Harley ownership. Its been scienced.

And, oh scions of taste and fashion, please let us engineering nerds who made it out of college in the '90 tat and piercing-free keep our pinkie rings.

(Order of the Engineer, always worn on the writing hand - has led me to many a nerd-pinkie-bump in airports, especially in and near Canada)

Perhaps over doing the bling a bit ?

Absolutely agree 100%. I out grew my rebel without a cause days of wearing an earing before I was thirty.

The only jewelry I wear other than my wife is my wedding ring and a watch.

It's interesting how virtue signaling and policing of others comes in different forms.

Crowbob 03-30-2022 07:45 AM

Policing of others?

What are you talking about?

Get screened folks...I did three years ago and, while a pain, compared to the colonoscopy rigamarole, this is a walk.

First visit to the Derm was in 2006. Burnt a few small spots away.

Saw him again about 5 years later. He addressed a few more.

Finally went to the same guy last summer.

No joke, there were more than 40 spots from my nipples to the top of my dome he addressed.

I looked like a meth head. Turned out great.

Largest was the size of a raisin. He had to hit that spot again a couple months later.

I agree, get screened. It's a piece of cake and the office girls are very cute and very polite. Nice environment, fo sho.

one thing for sure since i am aging (gracefully? dunno)

i really dont give two-effs anymore. my jurisdiction ends at my own earlobes. i'm not pierced. what anyone else wants to do is not any of my concerns. if it makes them happy, coo!! gooooo!

i used to think no one over 35 should wear a ball cap backwards. that's just dumb, judgemental thinking on my part. who cares.? i have since realigned my personal radar to what bothers me. i have enough of my own issues that bother me..i dont need to look elsewhere.

i'm gonna finish an arm sleeve tattoo one day, when the pandemic is a distant memory hopefully. its for me, nobody else.

Funny you that. The nurse I had yesterday for the preps was funny, cute and very competent. Great office environment.

That is the only way to live.

I go to my dermatologist every 6 months. I grew up in Hawaii wearing a pair of shorts, no shirt, no shoes, and sunscreen was not even something we had heard of except Zinc oxide white paste for our noses. I could stay outside all day in full sun and not get even a little sunburned with my deep tan.

Now I get several spots burned off with liquid nitrogen on every visit.

I have never seen a human with all those facial piercings like the photo above. As far as an earring, I likely would not notice one on a dude, unless it was a big one, or stuck in his nose or lips. I would not care one iota what someone else does with his body. Not my pig, not my farm, not my problem.

DonDavis 03-30-2022 09:00 AM
