Just to make it really hard on you......Here is a copy of a post I made on bmw2002faq.com last week after a drive up Angeles Crest Highway above LA. Enjoy

SoCal Vintage BMW Angeles Crest Drive. Pics for those who weren't there. Beautiful day, great drive.

Group gathered at John Barlow's house and headed out 8:30 AM.

Regroup up the canyon, and inspect everyone's rides.

Everyone eventually gathered to share stories of making the wrong turns.

Back down the hill. Sorry for the blur, hard to hit the apex and also shoot pics.

Final group portrait before enjoying John's delicious BBQ.

Much thanks to Jeff, John, and John's wife for a wonderful day. And for everyone in Southern California....Don't miss the next one.

Ahh, nice to see the little bathtub!

Whatever you do, stay away from my old '75 (2366288, I will never forget that number)-- I did a lot of bondo work on the car. . . when I was 15 and didn't know any better!

Muuhoohoohoo-mwha-ha-ha!

Seahawk is doomed! Nobody with a predisposition to '02s could resist this onslaught!

I have owned a 2002 you hump!

Now, while I'm feeling a little faint, I can muster enough will to let you and Steve in SB know your simple, prurient attachment to an inanimate object, a 2002, is disturbing.

You couldn't give me any of the cars in the pictures on this thread, Rat Bastards

I have standards, people.

BMW 2002/1600... One of my all time favorite cars. They were a CULT car in the late 70's early eighties where I lived. All the rich kids had them.

There is a local guy in his late 40's that just completed a full restoration on a 2002Tii. It is that Yellow/Green. It hurts bad to even see it.

Longhood Porsche 911
Porsche 914-6
Austin Mini Cooper
BMW 2002
BMW E30 M3
Lotus Europa
Lotus Exige
Ferrari Dino

These are the cars that put the HURT on me. I don't even like to think about them.

Mike

Me too. I see those cars and start thinking really, really irrational things. It's just amazing the power they have over logic and reason.

While riding the bike home from the gym a few minutes ago, I started thinking of what I could and should not do if I sold the 330i. We need some kind of four door sedan for driving family and friends around when they visit. If the wife decides to unload her Mini for something like that, I will sell the 330i the next day and start shopping for a 2002 and maybe also a classic Mini.

You guys are not doing me one bit of good I will have you know! Have lusted after an 02 for years and helped an old friend restore a Bavaria years ago in Germany, so this lurks deep...

Seahawk,

We can form a support group to try to get us over this!

They only thing that keeps me from pulling the trigger on a 2002 now is I have a large barn restoration project coming this fall...complete with a new workshop/garage.

I think I'll fall off the 2002 12 Step program next spring, either that or an old FJ-40

Steve's 1802 is simply unfair to those of us with the affliction!
