torrents

How does one go about downloading Torrents form the net? I would like to be able to watch the Top Gear stuff.
Is it legal to download and does it cost money?
I have a new Mac, do I need to join something, download software or go to some specific site?
Thanks
Steve

I've "heard" that Emule is very effective at that sort of thing and safer. I don't want to break any rules but Google will give you all the info you need.

You'll need a bittorrent client: I use uTorrent

Torrent Technology is 100% legal.

The content may not always be.

Just like anything else it's your actions that determine whether or not you get into trouble.

I've 'heard' you can use utorrent, and find the files with btjunkie

Azureus here, works pretty well. Low overhead, not very intrusive.

ThePirateBay.com for your torrent needs:)

Also, enable Encryption (both ways) in your torrent client settings.

Like stated above, torrenting is legal. But only if the content being downloaded is legal to download. I think the Top Gear episode torrents are linked from the Top Gear site so they are legal to torrent. I dont think utorrent works on Mac but do a google search and there are a few to try (Xtorrent i think is one).

Google "bittorrent" and then "torrent search engines" and you will come up with more than enough to keep you busy!
