I started a thread just like this two years ago after my Italy vacation. I wore a travel bag that I bought from AAA for a couple of weeks after but gave it up as it was just too big for carrying my wallet, iPod, earphones, PDA and keys. It's perfect if carrying more stuff like a camera, passport, travel book, food and water though.
Here's one that's not gay but super geeky. http://www.eholster.com/eholsters1.html Let us know what you end up getting. I like this but it costs way too much. I think I'll try a military surplus store like JYL suggested. http://www.ebags.com/maxpedition/jumbo_153_versipack/product_detail/index.cfm?modelid=103244 |
here are two to choose from depending on your mood.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1212461523.jpg

In my pocket today, camera, cell, car keys, wallet, sunglasses on head. No pocket knife since I flew here on Southwest. Disney would fire me on the spot if I packed heat on any job. |

and they guy that writes the copy is 6'7"rides a harley and is married with children |
it's a fanny pack for heavier things
the only man who ever made something like this look decent , was Indiana Jones |
I have one of these. Never heard it called my man purse, and it can hold a bit more then my cell and keys.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1212470856.jpg Strangely, nobody messes with me when I am wearing it. Come to think of it, no one even approaches me after a week in the backcountry...;) |

When I wear my kilt I also wear a sporran which is a type on bag that hangs in front over the bag that God gave you. I also carry a army issue assault pack that has enough space for all the stuff that the wife has to have (I am very often used as a pack mule by her) and it is used to hump stuff like laptops and cameras when ever necessary. I am not against these bags at all but I also would not have one with crazy colors or designs. If I can get away with house key, car key, pocket knife and wallet, I do so.

I'm getting the sense that some of you guys are OK with a man purse, as long is it comes in military/camo colors. I dunno, guys. :p
The gay in this thread is strong. |
Isn't that what wives' handbags are for? To carry extra crap that you want to bring with you? :D
My wife's been trying to get me to get a man bag for a while now as I always get her to carry stuff in her handbag for me e.g. digital camera, extra camera batteries etc. |
Enough of the man purse talk.
Just get a soft-sided briefcase and be done with it. JR |
I don't need a briefcase, that's much too big. I just have a few things that I want/need with me that I don't want to have in my pocket. The cell in this picture is soon to be replaced with a smart phone that might be a little bigger. The only other thing I might add is my sun glasses instead of leaving them in the car.

Is that all, but still too much for your pockets? Innnnnnteresting. We should perhaps talk about your choice of pants? No pockets.
Let us guess - leotards, or Speedos? :-) Quote:

Pretty much jeans and t-shirts/golf shirts for me, no spandex here... :D
|
Jeans like man jeans with real pockets and room for a 9mm IWB, or jeans like nothing came between Brooke and them? :-)

Nice wallet. I once had dinner in Carmel during the Monterrey weekend and sat next to Otis Chandler. He carried zero cash and perhaps 20 credit cards. He had a rubber band around them...
Anyway, what you have there will fit nicely in your pockets. You might lose a few of the keys and crap on that ring and actually wear the sunglasses you mentioned earlier. Otherwise, I see no problem. If you're out with the wife/girlfriend/whatever, have her carry your crap in her purse. That's what I do. JR |
hmm...once you add sunglasses you need a hard-sided case to avoid crushing/bending them. might be one too many doodads in the man bag.
are you one of those metrosexual types that can make sunglasses balance on his carefully gelled hair all day long and thus never have to worry about where to put your sunglasses while inside? if so that would be the easiest way to deal with the sunglasses. |
