When I carry the camera I load my schit up there too. But that, or my laptop, or a briefcase are not things I want to carry daily.

Man, this is a ghey thread.

On a daily basis I carry:

- a wallet with minimal stuff in it....in fact, when was the last time I was at Blockbuster? Need to thin that again. But I can't take out my PCA card, I actually *use* that. LOL
- a swiss army knife... a victorinox since that what I have always had unless I lose it again: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?t=358988&highlight=victorinox
- the key to whatever car I'm driving.
- my cell phone/pda combo.....planning to go back to just a phone shortly.

I don't even carry a house key, I come in through the garage. I don't lock the door to the house from the garage since anyone who gets into the garage has free reign of the garage and all my tools. This includes me if I got locked out. If the power is out, I have rocks in the garden to break a window and get in.

On the weekdays, I put all the other crap in my laptop bag...memory sticks, cord, ipod, etc. I don't need that stuff on the weekends. If I have to take the ipod somewhere on the weekend, I carry it in my hand like a man. Like an idiot.

Okay...be lookin' ghey...

Rick, I see a need for the other items, but why a cell phone? I figure since even school kids have them these days, I can borrow one if there is a real need...

I used to joke with a guy from work that the "cool" alternative to a pocket protector would be a shoulder holster. I could put pens and a PDA in there. Problem is, the terrorists have ruined that.

Nobody wants to call you Paul, so you still don't need one. The rest of us have friends.

Here's what I have on today.

Unless you have to bring a laptop with you, I don't see a need for anything more than this.

I have a LeSac, over the shoulder with plenty zippered pockets.

Call it my Fxx bag.

It is really good though even though, like walking the poodle, ya gotta be brave.

I usually leave my cell phone in the car and mechanical watches are far more reliable than cell phones anyway.

When it comes to minimalist carried items, I'm not too bad, here's what I carried today, minus the cell phone that I used to take the pic.

And the laptop in question:

I use a fanny pack that almost always stays in the truck.

It is a good place to keep my reciepts, wallet, pen etc.
I rarely carry it. Just into a store/Home Depot from time to time.

I hate to say 'fanny pack' out loud...

Sounds like a gay sex act.

If you gotta go down that street, you might as well go in style.

I have the boy this weekend. The more into summer it gets the harder it is for me - I want to ride the bike but I'm going going through the desert in July or August...

I'm starting to lean towards the 'waist' (ie fanny) packs. Maybe something like http://www.rei.com/product/747710
