Need pics of a marble or other solid surface shower.
 

I hit the Net, all the manuf. sites, Google images, the works. Sorry lot of showers out there my friends. Anyone got some pics of something stirring? Like a jade green marble with clear glass door and/or glass block? Stone gray granite on an onyx floor?

Our shower and tub was done in the Emperador dark marble with a Mexican noche floor. The colors don't really stand out in my crummy pictures but it's rich looking. I'll take a couple current ones with the completed floors, counters, and splash and post again.

Marble tiles are nice, but I'm looking for solid surface (seamless). And a one piece floor pan.

Roger that. FWIW - a one piece pan will probably be a plastic/fiber deal with built in anti slip. I don't think a one piece stone floor would be a good idea when combined with water and soap...

Corian has one piece and so do others. No problems with soap.

Here are a couple, we did this last year and the maid, that will be me, has been a little sloppy lately, but here they are, some of the small tiles I got in Mexico a few years ago and finally got to use them. Marble with the big glass door. If I keep the squeege on the doors and marble it looks a lot better.

Kinda tough to do a one piece floor out of stone with a centered drain. how does it flow? When we do solid floors we sheet flow it to one end and use a 3/4 inch slot drain with the actual drain hidden underneath it.

Most of the solid surface companies offer pre-molded and custom molded shower floors. I've done a lot of stuff with Onyx products, and plan to use solid panel walls and a custom molded base when I remodel my master bath. Also plan on doing a true walk in shower to avoid the always dirty glass doors.

That's a link to their gallery. You can browse for the shower bases and walls. They'll custom make about anything. I have a vanity top in my recently remodeled 1/2 bath. My father in law, who's a contractor and owns a lumberyard, has their tops in his bathrooms and uses their products often for customers.

I used fake (ceramic) travertine tiles, but the awesome contractor that did the work told me he has done several showers in Laguna Beach out of solid granite. For the floor, he lays some kind of bed (quikset?) with a low point at the drain, installs the one piece granite shower floor, then wedges it down at the drain by jamming a 2x4 between the floor and ceiling. He told me there's enough give in the granite so that it drains well.

He also does floors out of 4' by 4' and 4' by 8' granite - I have not seen it, but he says it looks awesome and has very few (micro) grout lines to deal with.

The custom bases are nice because you can get the same color/texture as the walls, and it's pre-sloped with a drain cut-out. Of course, you can't do that with granite.
