Digital Cameras and Japan Vacation: Good news and bad news
Just back from a great trip to Japan with the family. The great news about digital cameras is not having to wait for film to be developed and fundamentally infinite supply of media to take pictures. The bad news is I'm sorting through almost 1,000 images! Here's three:
Himeji Castle: ![]() Tsukiji wholesale fish market: ![]() Ryoanji zen garden in Kyoto: ![]() Picked up a Panasonic TZ4 just for this trip as it has a 10X zoom (28mm-280mm) in a pocket-size format. Perfect for travel. Automatic color balance and exposure compensation for difficult shots was amazing. Highly recommended and was recently just 199 at costco. (note: pictures above highly reduced and compressed - originals much better).

Sweet, I'd love to go back to Japan. I lived there when I was 8-10 and 13-15 (military father). I love the country and the people.
Hell, I'd even be happy to go work there.
