Olympic Competition
 

Like many of you, I watch the games for one reason. To see a human turn in an athletic performance that takes my breath away. Makes me proud to be a human. In preparation, I scoured YouTube for some of my favorite past performances. Nadia Comeneci. Olga Korbut. Kerri Strug. Franz Klammer. Greg Louganis. Made me weep. In a manly sort of way.

Franz Klammer's downhill run in the '76 olympics still rates as the most incredible sporting performance I've ever seen. Truly a do or die performance, both literally and figuratively.

This will turn into a GIGANTIC politacal thread by right-wing polical polls here online. It will probably take a few minutes-

I hope to see Michael Phelps set a world record again and repeat his performance from the olympic trials...gonna be fun to watch.

American Alexi Grewal winning the men's 112-mile cycling road race during a ferocious sprint against Canadian Steve Bauer during the L.A. games. Awesome stuff! :)
