Saw Shawn Colvin there 10 years ago or so - great show. My oldest (now 7, then 2) and I went to see Jackson Browne at the Fraze (sat on the lawn outside) on the day after my younger son was born. I took him to see his mom and new brother and decided to go over and listen for a while - at 10:30 the phone rings and it is my wife wondering why nobody is answering the home phone. Busted - the answer went over like a fart in church.

Cool ddan, familiar story about "coulda been somebody" . I prefer to think that I would have been a nobody without the punk. I saw the Ramones in 83. Was underage (17). We got a group of us in by pretending to be celebrating the 22 bday of one of the girls in the group. We even brought a cake with us that said happy 22, that was our ID that nite, a freakin bday cake. Good times. good thread

We frequented Don Kirshner's rock concerts. Saw groups like Kansas before anyone knew who they were. Early to mid 70's was a great era of rock music. Wish I could remember 10% of all those good times.
![]() Went to the LA coliseum along with 90,000 others to see great guitarists Robin Trower and Rory Gallahger. Jethro Tull was the headliner. I think this was 1976. The one thing that stands out are all the overdosers being carried out on stretchers long before the first note was played. We were up in the stands and the field was almost full. We were betting quarters on who would be the next dead guy to leave horizontally. I know, we were sick pups. |

My wife even commented after the show that now she understood what all the boys in the '70s saw in KISS

California Jam I, 1974 @ Ontario Motor Speedway when I was 12 years old!
My older brothers abandoned me and my 13 year old brother once we got to the concert. I remember being freaked out over several nude hippie concert goers. It was a real "groovy" experience... Mike |

14. I was too young to drive. My dad took my friends and I to see Nine Inch Nails with Marilyn Manson as the opener (when he was much tamer).
I have a VERY cool dad |
