Tornado pics

These are some great shots, taken by a friend of a friend, of one of the two tornados that touched down at 6 PM yesterday about seven miles from our home. She said it probably wasn’t too smart to shoot them off her deck. Probably the best shot was of the people in the field cheering the tornado on. Needless to say, we don’t get a lot of tornados around here so I guess folks don’t know what to do when they see one. Fortunately, just some trees knocked down and no injuries.

And if for some reason you were, don't try to outrun it, lay down flat in a ditch.

Those are some amazing shots! My father took this shot from the deck of his sailboat a few weeks ago right here in RI:

My boss lives in castle rock. I told him that he needs to make up some "I survived the tornado 08" shirts. You in? :D

My father in law left us a voicemail from Pennsylvania about the tornados within a few minutes after they hit, telling us that they had made the news there and were on the Weather Channel. We didn't get any warning sirens or a reverse 911 call in town. Just some pea-sized hail. If they hit a few miles south of where they actually hit and we wouldn't have been able to buy the shirt much less make one. So much for civil defense.

BTW, sorry for putting this in the wrong forum originally. Force of habit.
