Steak & Shake
Double with cheese, onion rings, and a chocolate shake. Wash it ALL down with a cup of their good Jo.

Yes, calories are high in a typical Chipotle meal!

But, one gets meat that generally retains meat's natural state, i.e. not processed, as well as things like beans, onions, peppers, rice and avocados (guac).

I know it's white rice and I am certain they use oils and salt to cook with, but compared to typical fast food, Chipotle almost transcends the genre.

Best,

Popeyes! Good red beans & rice - they even have one south of Portland in a truck stop on I-5.

we also have Burgerville up here - which also only gets to about 100 miles N. of me -- interesting combo of old fashioned shakes with seasonal ingredients (berries); they have salmon burgers, great onion rings and fries - and if it ain't in season they don't have it - not real spendy and they have drive up service too!

Eugene has a few 'healthy' driveup or walk up places -- in fact we have tons of fast food walk up carts downtown and near the UO

otherwise, like Paul, Subway.

Gotta be WAWA for me...you can get anything from celery and broccoli with lite Ranch to an absolute gut bomb sausage biscuit with egg and cheese.

And everything in between. Plus their gas prices are reasonable.

You've got to get out of the car, though.

Good question..

I eat more fast food than I like to admit...

Good: Subway, Schlotzsky's, Whataburger, Wendys (spicy chicken sandwich), Arby's.

Hate to admit I sometimes eat there: Taco Bell and Long John Silver's.

Every 3 months I get a Long John Silver's craving but I feel horrible after I eat it...

Whataburger! Just like you like it!

The fries need help, though.

Oh, someone please bring back the beef tallow french fries from McDonalds! Mmmmmm.

Subway, wow I can't believe you guys like that place. The smell alone makes me ill, and the meat is akin to sliced hotdogs blech. . .

My 3 favorite fast food places are Illegal Pete's burritos in Boulder Colorado, Dalessandro's cheese steaks in Philadelphia, and Primo's Hoagies in Philly as well.

Wawa is a good call too.

As far as healthy, so to speak; El Pollo Loco, and Baja Fresh are pretty good.

I like In and Out burgers, but they use that trans fat free oil in their fries, which I don't like.

Best,
I used to love Chipotle and go there all the time until I saw this:
http://www.menshealth.com/20worst/worstmexican.html

If it's on the Internet then it's gotta be true, right?

Then again... is there such a thing as "healthy" fast food? Maybe I should start a new thread.

That sounds about right, for the burrito they used as an example.

I usually go for a fajita burrito bowl without rice, as the article suggests.

Best,

Burger King because it's there and you kmow what you're gonna get. But I really like a local place called burgerfuel, which is a "healthy" meal in a b burger.

Us Kiwis, like the English, enjoy fish and chips.
