How Private are PM's?

How private are PM’s? Just curious but does anyone have the power to review them?

It depends on how Wayne has set up the vBulletin software. He can allow moderators to see PM's if he sets the permissions to do so. Hopefully he has not done that.

I don't know how Wayne has set up the PM's, but I don't read PM's, and wouldn't know how to, even if I had access. Private is private.

I would never count on them being private. There have been dust ups on other Porsche boards where "private" PMs were being read by others.

It's safe to assume that NOTHING on the internet is private.

NOTHING.

cstreit 09-08-2008 07:56 AM

I don't know about other mods, but the only privates I've seen as a moderator were those pictures banned by z-man. :D

Even if no one on Pelican has the ability to see them (and there is always the way), anything you type can be intercepted between your computer and Pelican's servers.

onewhippedpuppy 09-08-2008 08:33 AM

Some of you are really freakin' weird. I mean...............PMs are totally, absolutely, 100% private.:D

rcecale 09-08-2008 08:37 AM

Though I can't cite a specific thread, I seem to recall reading here in OT (a while ago) where Pelican-A was complaining about Pelican-B posting PMs that Pelican-A had sent them. So really, once it's gone from your computer, kiss the word "private" good bye! SmileWavy

Chris;

I wanted to thank you for sharing the really saucy ones, but now that that word is out, maybe you should put that last one in here for everyone to see!:eek:

I disagree, there are a lot of (ladies') privates on the internet. :D

(I don't look at the men's privates, really, I don't)

Thanks guys, I understand, I just like to use PM's rather than email here at work so the messages are not logged thru our account.
