prognosis?

Jim Richards 09-22-2008 01:36 PM

it has 10 cup holders.

Rot 911 09-22-2008 01:37 PM

The answer to the question nobody asked.

To long - too thirsty - the answer to the question nobody asked. - Kurt beat me too it.

Too little, too late.

It looks like a Scion Xb on steroids - 5 years after Toyota took the plunge.

The white roof was obviously lifted from the Mini.

It is smaller than the Freestyle (Taurus X), and gets worse gas mileage.

What's to like? And, is this the best that Ford can do?

porsche4life 09-22-2008 03:10 PM

:eek:Fugly.

HardDrive 09-22-2008 03:20 PM

Folks that drink and drive are going to love it. Drunkeness also helps the asthetics.

azasadny 09-22-2008 03:22 PM

Ugly and expensive...

TerryH 09-22-2008 03:51 PM

Here's a Ford that gets 65 mpg that won't be available in the US.

Oh Haha 09-22-2008 04:02 PM

Wow, I have to disagree with you fellas this time.

I think the Flex is one of the neatest looking vehicles to come from the US in a while.

We have been looking at them on the lots for a while now. I see it as an alternative to the SUV.

The reason we bought our wagon is that is NOT like everyone elses SUV.

Too bad for Ford that gas prices are so high, I believe they COULD have sold a ton of these.

Unfortunately, we are not in a position to buy a new vehicle right now.

America needs to get its head out of its hybrid-loving ass and turn to diesel.

Instead, we have organizations like the California Fuel Cell Partnership in West Sacramento trying to make fuel cell vehicles a reality. What a joke.

In regards to the Flex, I like it for what it is. However, it is overpriced. A nicely appointed AWD model is pushing close to 40k.

KaptKaos 09-22-2008 04:09 PM

The Flex is too big, and too expensive and uses too much gas. It's cool looking and I like the design idea, but I'd prefer a cross between the First Gen Scion xB and the Mazda 5. Then we might have something to talk about.

Oh Haha 09-22-2008 04:14 PM

Since when is diesel cheaper than gasoline?

regular here is 3.59 gal.

Diesel is still above 4.00.

Bah! All this innovation is sickening! Bring back the stagecoach!

The cost and pollution associated with obtaining hydrogen in its pure form overshadows any benefit. Hydrogen fuel cell technology isn't an alternative to internal combustion. In fact, a large portion of the industry is looking into it as a "back-up" energy source.

Diesel is, in a sense, the most efficient vehicular technology out there that is cheap and accessible. Not taking advantage of this is stupid.

MichiganMat 09-22-2008 04:45 PM

Looks great.
The mpg kinda sucks though.

Certainly one of the better looking Fords I've ever seen. Would look awesome as a woody with some boards strapped to the top.

Gogar 09-22-2008 06:16 PM

I think it looks like a range rover, with its phasers set to "Gay."

Diesel used to be and still should be cheaper. Its way more efficient is the major advantage to fuel.
