Um, I thought they sold them off two years ago, and Jaguar and Land Rover went a year ago...

I think actually that

Jag and Land Rover are now part of TATA, still built in Great Britan.

You may be thinking of MG-Rover, which is now a Chinese (part of GM) company.

T,

Yup... Rover is MG- Rover...

(LR is always refered to as LR, whilst MG-Rover is 'Rover' over here...)

I have an Indian friend who happens to be a car fanatic. He nearly fell over with joy when TATA bought Jag. Given their history, Indians enjoy sticking it in the Brits faces now and again.

M,
Gotcha. My view is skewed by the fact that the only 'Rover' we have had over here for almost 30 years is Land Rover. Lot of folks have no idea what MG is/was.
Thanks.

T...

In way you have been lucky... avoiding the real poor cars that BL/Rover eetc made in the 70s and 80s... but there were a couple that were fun....

And you did get Landies....so you know all about the 'quality British Car'...

Mind you I'd still go for an early Range Rover....a 1972 (pre production I reckon) would go well with the P car...
