Gun Show - Nov. 8-9 San Francisco

Crossroads of the West Gun Shows - Cow Palace

Is a gun show in SF an oxymoron? Well, I'm going anyways. Is it going to be impossible to buy a gun there? What am I going to need to bring with me? A gun permit? ID?
Proof of address? Anything else? California gun laws suck.

Convince the authorities that you are a gay, unemployed, intraveneous drug user who is afraid of all the rednecks picking on you. You'll have a gun permit and directions to the nearest needle exchange before you know what happened.

To buy a handgun you will need to take a test, once you pass they will give you a license to buy handguns...
Rifles no need testing...

bring license, utilities bills dating back 3 months, drivers license etc...

you can also buy guns online www.gunbroker.com and have it shipped to your local gun shop and pay a holding fee and wait for that 10 day wait...

Your right, according to wikipedia it's in Daly City.

"The Cow Palace has a Daly City address, and except for the very northwest corner of the parking lot it lies physically entirely within Daly City. But by most people it is known as a San Francisco attraction. Both the Daly City Police Department and San Francisco Police Department patrol its grounds during events."

I haven't been to one in a few years, but you can buy a gun there, you just can't take it home (unless it is a "Curio/Relic"). There should be transfer dealers there to take care of the paperwork and hold the gun for the required waiting period (for a fee, of course).

From past experience, you probably don't want to buy a gun there anyway. Most guns I have seen at CA gun shows fall in one of these categories:

Overpriced
Crap.

Some even fit both.

Even in the free states most gun shows have ridiculously overpriced stuff. They're good for finding rare or oddball stuff and picking up accessories without having to pay shipping. But if you're looking for any kind of common gun, a gun show is where you'll pay the most for it. Best thing about the guns shows here and when I lived in VA were all the private party sales going on in the parking lot or entrance to the gun show. That's where the deals were. I've walked up to the door with a rifle to sell and had to go back to the car a few more times before I was out of guns to sell and then able to walk around inside the show.
