Pen of Choice?

As long as we're asking about choices...

Fountain? Ball point? Felt tip? Roller ball? Gel Ink? What?

I used to carry a fountain pen...Mont Blanc. Got tired of the fussing & fiddling, plus, to be honest, it really didn't write all that well.

My carry pen these days? A fisher space pen...the bullet. As long as my jeans have a pocket, I'm set to write.

Of course, under the new austerity plan, we will all be required to carry the basic BIC...

Pilot G2's with Gel. Black preferrably.

Felt tip Flair (Papermate), black, blue, red and green. Some 1/4" grid paper and a bottle of white-out and I'm set for the evening.

Rolling Writer by Pentel - as fat a ball you can get. Those pin thin things are like writing with a needle and the felt-tip tend to dry out too fast.

Bet that repop decal cost more than a pen...

Jim Richards 12-08-2008 10:26 AM

I got a great deal on it, but yeah, the pens are still cheaper. :D

Absolutely! I write constantly at work. For years I only used a Pelican roller-ball. Now I use a medium point Pilot Gel. NO hand fatigue even after hours of writing.

Seahawk 12-08-2008 10:28 AM

Paper Mate felt tip...all I ever use.

targa911S 12-08-2008 10:30 AM

One that is not out of ink, dried up, and sitting in my pen jug for 10 years. It just has to write.

Rot 911 12-08-2008 10:34 AM

Uni-ball Vision fine point roller ball.

gprsh924 12-08-2008 10:40 AM

For 3 years of college I have used the clicky-top Bic pens that I get for free at the bookstore when I buy my books.

I sent my artist friend/pen pal a G-2. He, Howard Shoemaker, did cartoons for PLAYBOY, R&T, and others over the years...now retired for the most part.
His snail mail letters all arrive done with a G-2 these days. Artists are different sometimes...he won't allow a computer in his house.

I write by hand as little as possible. If careers were based on penmanship, I'd be a REALLY amazing doctor.

speeder 12-08-2008 11:09 AM

Cross pen is my favorite writing tool, but it never leaves my coffee table at home. I'd lose it immediately if I carried it around. It's beautiful, feels great in hand and is built to last hundreds of years.

For the center console of my car or truck, any cheap pen that works is OK.

onewhippedpuppy 12-08-2008 11:22 AM

Feather pen. That's how I roll.
