What the heck, Utah spanking bama bad? LOL ROFLMAO
Utah didn't stand a chance. They should have just called it in ,the entire country had them as too slow, too weak, too slow to beat the big, bad, bama.
Well guess what? bama is down 21 to zip, zero, nada in the first quarter. Even if they turn it around and come back it doesn't matter, this moment was worth it all ;) |
Still happy from last night, aren't you?

I was born and raised in SLC, my father is a Utah alum, and to see a big ole SEC team getting whipped by a lowly Mountain West team is better than Christmas. Isn't the mountain west considered a NON-BCS conference? LOL I'm sick of people saying that the SEC is the only real conference. I'm sick of people acting like there aren't any good tough teams west of the Rockies. Time to re-evaluate. Utah is going to remain as the ONLY undefeated team. Everyone said it's because they hadn't played any good teams. well now they have played an alleged good team and are still undefeated unless something really weird happens in the next 4 minutes. I say make Utah #1. Give them the AP vote. That'd really frost the SEC snobs ;) |
When all is said and done, the WEST FRIGGIN KICKED A$$ in College Football post season.
I love this. All the boners claiming the West and PAC 10 are weak just got BURNT! Mike |
I guess this begs the question: Is the SEC over-rated??? :D:D:D:D
Sammy? Utah beat the Beavers...That's one good team they beat. |

Maybe the old days of a few conferences dominating are long gone. Maybe we are seeing a new phase where all conferences have a shot at putting up a winner and have to be respected as such. What would that mean? The BCS ranking system is obsolete. It doesn't work. Teams are getting over-ranked because of their reputation or conference, and other teams are getting under-ranked (like Utah) for the same reason. Playoffs! |
They should just eliminate the "C" from BCS...

Somewhere deep down in your conscience, you must feel a little lowsy for accusing me of being pompous and I think arrogant too at the beginning of the season. I NEVER put down other conferences or regions. Moreover, I acknowledged that I underestimated the Big 12 and how many quality teams they had this year. Well, it is your turn now to admit you were WAY wrong about the PAC 10 AND the West in general. Maybe "lowly" Arizona is not so bad. Maybe "lowly" Oregon State is that good. And, maybe you should be impressed with Utah, USC, and Oregon after all. You better hurry and acknowledge your poor jugement before Ohio State kicks Texas' a$$ and really makes you look like a fool. Remember that crow I was saying you would have to eat... Buck up and apologize like I did. Mike |
Congrats to Utah on playing a brilliant game.

I live in Tuscaloosa. Watched the game down on the Strip at Egan's. Man, it was PAINFUL.
Well played, Utes! roll turd, roll |

I don't recall ever dogging schools like Utah, BYU, TCU, etc. While top to bottom those conferences aren't as strong, there's still good teams in them. Me thinks you take this a bit too seriously. Strong opinions and team loyalty are part of college football. If OSU beats UT (which I doubt) I'll be suprised, but I won't be upset or embarassed about it. Talk all the trash you want, it's part of the fun (until you take it seriously). Back to the topic at hand, my favorite part of the Utah team? Their offensive coordinator is headed to K-State next year.:D |
You guys are over looking a key fact. There happened to be a 35 game win streak back in the late 60's/early 70's and they never got to play in the championship game. The teams from whats considered 'BCS' always get the first nod as to whose good or not. TV has just allowed the non-BCS teams to get ranked rather high, which is a good thing.
|
Until we have a playoff all the talk about who's conference is better etc. etc. is moot. The games have to truely mean something. Some teams have 20 days off between games, others friggin' 40 some days. Factz is factz is factz. And ya have to give the PAC10 a piece of raisin pie for their bowl record this year.
It is fun though to watch an underdog team such as Utah put a whippin' on a big bad SEC team. |

One thing we all need to remember, just by contributing to this thread we've demonstrated that we all enjoy college football and we all have been rewarded this year. Lots of great teams, lots of great players, lots of great games.
This has been the best college football season I can personally remember and it isn't over yet. The ups and downs, the upsets and shake-ups. The incredible offensive performances (Florida, Texas, Texas tech, just to name a few I happened to see) and the crushing defenses. I just hope next season provides the same thrills. |
Amen to that, Sammy.... GO BEAVERS!

Dang, just reading Sammy's post about the college season got me thinking. The only way things could be better is a playoff. With that being said, and for you conspiracy theorists, is the NFL paying off the NCAA? Think about it. A college playoff would damn near, if not totally, be better than the NFL playoffs other than the Super Bowl itself.
|
Last I heard, the PAC 10 and Big 10 are the biggest obstacles to a playoff system. I seem to recall one of the conference commissioners saying something to the effect of, "over my dead body".:) Funny, because Pete Carroll is always pushing for a playoff. Seriously though, I think the Big 10 commissioner stated that the Big 10 would pull out of the BCS system if a playoff was adopted. Yeah, I know, big loss........:D

a big +1 sammy!
