I read somewhere recently that American and Canadian beer have exactly the same alcohol content, it's just measured in different ways, hence the different labels.
Aha, here it is: http://www.faqs.org/faqs/beer-faq/part2/section-5.html It's measured by weight in the US, by volume in Canada and most of the rest of the world. |

That all depends on which brand of beer your drinking. Cold Shots by Molsons is 6% per 250 ml while most brands are 5% per 341 ml. Old Stock is 5.65% per 341 ml (at one time it was 10.5%) and specialty beers can have up to 12%, Manitoba 200 was one of those. It all depends on what and why your drinking. :)

Otherwise, it just numbs the pain. |
