Saw this in the NYT yesterday. I know a lot of people here think of their dogs as family. Looks like they finally have pet GPS ready for prime time.

Great idea. For $130 that's not bad at all.

Is there a monthly charge too or is it just a one-time fee and that's it? Looks like the latter (which would make it even better).

My bad - you're correct. And the monthly fee is "TBD" naturally. That's most likely going to be the deal-killer right there.

Still a cool idea though.

Yea, that's the mentality that gets people (1) dependent on their jobs and (2) over-extended. If it ain't my house, I don't want a monthly bill for it. I've got a way to go before I get there, but that's the place I'd like to be in 5-10 years. I either buy something up front, cash on the barrelhead or I don't buy it.

Yes, I'll get to that point eventually.
