Need a Iron Fence Guy- San Fernando Valley-HELP-PICS

Hi everyone,

Turns out that a drunken idiot crashed into my mom's property fence in North Hollywood. Someone was throwing a party and a guest went nuts and crashed into my mom's fence, another fence down the road, and a new bimmer as well. No trouble folks, police is pressing felony vandalism charges...

I Need a guy that can fix a 4-5 foot high iron fence (about 80 feets worth). Hopefully you know someone that you have seen their work..

Thank you in advance..SmileWavy

I'd hit the yellow pages. All you have to do is check their license and ask to see their last job. Not just any referral, the last job. Talk briefly with the owners. Iron work is mostly all about price. It's pretty objective, either it's straight, level and plumb, or it's not. Not like hanging a door. I'd say 80% of that fence is salvageable.

Thanks Milt for the advise of what to ask for. Agree- It looks like we have to replace 5-6 posts and maybe 5-10 spikes.

I was checking on Craigslist and got some leads..

Thanks again!

If you can't find anyonw, let me know. I'll pass on the phone # of my welder. I know he isn't too crazy about repair work.

My regular handyman did some fence work for us recently, including welding-in some replacement sections. (If yours are severely bent or broken as it appears in the pics, it may be cheaper and easier to replace them. Straight sections are pretty cheap and time/labor can rack up on these kind of jobs.)

If you have a local neighborhood newspaper, there are usually ads in the back for all sorts of service folks.
