The Greatest Photos in Your Life

Is or was there a specific photo in your life, recent or historical that has always received your attention for various reasons?

I wanted to start a thread dedicated to photography and how it has/had it's influence. There are pictures/photos of events that have awesome historic relevance or personal attributes that have some influence over you personally. This thread should be dedicated to not just photography, but the essence of the photograph!

Both pictures I added firstly, had and still have a significant meaning to me as an American. Both revolve around the American Flag!

These (2) photos shaped my patriotism and motivated me to become an aerospace engineer.

This thread is useful with photographs!

Marines planting flag on Mt. Suribachi, battle for Iwo Jima, 1945. Got to love the Marine Corp!

Panoramic view of the flag on the moon ~July 20, 1969 This was unbelievable to me as a 9 years old at the time . Just one of many NASA photos from Apollo 11.

1. Tear Down This Wall. I have it on the wall of my study mounted with a fragment of the Berlin wall.

2. Apollo 11. In the study, signed by Buzz Aldrin

3.Rosa Parkes on the bus. I'm trying to get a high quality copy for framing. No success so far.

These are the three most important photos for me.
Liberation from Communism.
Liberation of Technology.
Liberation from Racism.

I may be shallow, but before Viet Nam or Kennedy's assassination we had innocent fun. One role model was Ricky Nelson. I have this album hung on the wall:

This photo has always been impactful to me. Taken by Life photgrapher Robert Cappa on Omaha. He took 106 exposures only to have a darkroom technician destroy all but 10!!!!

The shooter in this one died in Falls Church, VA a few years ago. What the camera doesn't show is the family just murdered by the guy getting executed.

Kinda sorta....he was the National Police Chief. Eddie Adams took the shot (picture).

The shooter was later identified as Lt. Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Loan, police chief of South Vietnam. Adams said he walked up to him and said, "They killed many of my people, and yours, too" and then just walked away.
